We ate the Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadila. It was delicious! After lunch we had ice cream. I enjoyed the banana split and it was amazing. I HIGHLY RECOMEND stopping at this place if you are passing through. Great atmosphere and the people working there were so nice and helpful. Thanks to both Dana and Daine.

A lovely simple cafe offering Young Jersey ice cream and basic salads and common sandwiches with a few panini options to which I’d suggest the Reuben or Monte Cristo. The charm starts for the start, and ends when you’re done.

It took over 30 minutes for our order (one panini and one salad) to be served. What made the situation more frustrating was that customers who arrived 10–15 minutes after us received their food first, despite also dining in. When we politely asked about our order, the staff member we spoke with (long blond-brown hair) was very dismissive and raised her voice, telling us “they are busy.” This exchange was loud enough that others in the restaurant turned to watch, which was uncomfortable and unnecessary.
We tried to explain that we understood the restaurant was busy, but we were confused as to why others who ordered well after us were served first. Her response felt rude and unprofessional, which only added to the poor experience.
To be candid, we should have requested a refund but did not. The quality of the food was also disappointing, and unfortunately, the overall impression left us questioning whether we would return.

Food was fantastic! You go in and order under the sign that says “order food”.
There is additional seating upstairs in the back. One ADA compliant restroom.
Wait time was excellent, gave us time to rest, eat a relaxing lunch without being rushed.
They also have Young’s Jersey Dairy ice cream.
Ladies who were working were amazing, kind and polite. They love what they do.
Self-serve for the straws, napkins, etc, and you may need to brush off your own table, but it’s the only way to get a table.

The Butter Churn Cafe is one of our most favorite eateries. Walk through the door into old world charm. Dana greets us with genuine friendliness and is patient when we are deciding what delectable items we choose to enjoy. We usually choose the cranberry walnut salad with the house dressing accompanied by the delicious tomato bisk soup, and possibly half of a sandwich. We save room for ice cream. The food tastes marvelous and the ice cream and desserts are delights. We set among the old-fashioned toys and eclectic items that remind us of days past. My spouse and I love going to Waynesville for its quaintness and the friendliness of the shop owners and staff. Hershelle, the owner of the cafe, is a lovely woman and a fantastic cook. Eating at the Butter Churn is a highlight of our trip to Waynesville!

I am going to sit a minute and RAVE about this little Cafe.
It is beautiful and clean with a nice vintage vibe. Soups, salads, sandwiches on the menu all freshly made. I had the avocado toast with tomato and feta (good, but I’ll try something different next time). Hubby had the ham and cheese melt because of the herbed spread which was 5/5 tasty. Kiddo had “the amazing grilled cheese” which lives up to its name. The grilled cheese won the dinner contest hands down – must try! The pumpkin soup was scrumptious, I’ve never had better.
We had a few GENEROUS scoops of ice cream to finish up – couldn’t do much better than Young’s.
Overall, just give this place a try. I think you’ll like it.

I met of a friend for lunch and we decided on the Butter Churn Cafe! We ordered at the counter and we sat down to chat for a few hours. Our sandwiches and soups were excellent and we even had some Young’s ice cream for dessert. If you’re looking for a cute little cafe, I highly recommend coming here.

My girlfriends and I had a shopping day in Waynesville, OH and stopped in the Butter Churn Cafe for a quick lunch. It is conveniently located near the shops. The staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable! I had a delicious avocado toast with tomato, feta and hard-boiled egg. One of the best I’ve had!

We ordered the BLT on rye and a side salad, “grilled cheese Panini,” and tomato bisque. Our food was served hot and fresh, the ladies were so nice as well. There’s a lot of food for your money, we couldn’t finish it, had to get it to go
