This place is wonderful and the food is amazing, but the highlight of the night was the service. Yelena (hope I am spelling correctly) is an incredible server and made our dining experience absolutely delightful. I highly recommend coming here! The filet mignon was great, the poke tower (pictured) was lovely, and the drinks were perfect!

Food is okay, not particularly outstanding in NYC. The place is for tourists, a decent dinner with the look of an old vault. We had oysters, buchetta, porterhouse and salmon. We came here for steak, and meat quality is on the cheap side. The filet side is dry. Oysters are a disappointment. Waiters are average, a little chaotic in coordinating the food arrangements. The ambience is good, nicely decorated and the vault door is interesting. The place needs a thorough clean up, a little run down or dirty.

Cool place – hidden away the basement of the hotel. Decor feels very outdated but the vault is pretty cool – we just had a drink and some finger food at the bar so can’t really comment on the main dishes – but the mini tacos (short ribs) and the fries were surprisingly good!

Great food! The mushrooms were ultimately flavourful and the duck fat potato pancake was amazing. My one issue was with the condiments. I had asked for and was served Lea and Perrins sauce. I had used the sauce throughout my meal. While waiting for the bill I had noticed it had been expired. Not only for a few months but since November of 2021! I had brought this to the attention of our waiter since we didn’t want it being served to anyone else. He had taken a look and said that’s just the best by date it doesn’t mean it’s expired. I was shocked but then he agreed to dispose of it. I would understand if it was expired for a few months but as such an upscale enough restaurant to have a dress code they should be regularly checking condiments and all ingredients for expiry. Who knows what else is expired in their kitchen. I was very satisfied until my discovery of the expired condiment and even more disappointed at the response of my waiter. Especially when he dismissed it so simply without apology. Would recommend but take caution with condiments.

This was a really nice restaurant, and a great experience. The resturant was tucked away downstairs in the New Yorker Hotel. It had a very cool speakeasy vibe, and a little adventure to find it. The staff were incredible and made it a very special evening. The cocktails were very good, and came out quickly. We also really enjoyed the food (porterhouse for 2). We were there early on a Tuesday evening before a show, so it was not very busy, and that may be why the service was so good. I don’t really have anything negative to say about the place. If you are visiting New York and are looking for a cool place with good food and great service I would give this a try. There are more famous steakhouses in midtown in this price range, but this is a novel spot with a cool vibe and you won’t have to eat in a shed on the street.

We were looking forward to the possibilities of a new steakhouse close to Madison Square Garden. Unfortunately, this will not be a steakhouse we will ever return to. Our night started off getting ready to go out to dinner and then to see a show. The restaurant called us to tell us about the dress code, and that we need to adhere to it. We both like dressing up, so this task was kind of fun and we were looking forward to a a dress up place with good food . Upon arrival we quickly noticed that several patrons were in blue jeans and T-shirts ,and that more than half the guests were not adhering to the dress code. This was very disappointing as we started feeling overdressed. And we would’ve been more comfortable wearing jeans and a dress shirt . Secondly, we were sat not in the main dining room, but at a little side table in the bar area next to one of the staffs families that was there having dinner and very underdressed …. Our waiter paid way more attention to them then us ,to the point that we had to flag down a different waiter, just to take our food order. Unfortunately, the night just kept getting worse as our food came out .appetizer, salad. And then main course ..none of the food was really that good.

I typically don’t write reviews, but have to admit the atmosphere here was amazing! We ordered the porter house it was gigantic and delicious. The drinks were the best part for me, chocolate covered strawberry dessert drink was my favorite! At one point I lost track of time and the restaurant was closing but the manager was kind enough to get me another drink on the house. Thank you ❤️

This place is cool. I came here for dinner. It’s in the lobby of a hotel and you have to go down two flights of stairs or the elevator to access the place. It is the vault of an old bank.

An elegant charm set in the lower level (bank vault) of the iconic 1930’s New Yorker. Even though you are expected to be glamorous it’s not required although you may feel out of place… The service was exceptional and the 40oz steaks are enough for two people although I ordered the Tuna and glad I did. Very good. I went on a Thursday after work and it was very comfortable getting more full around 7:30 when I was leaving so it was a pleasant escape from the crowds. Highly recommend, enjoy!
