Owner has always been nice. Greets everyone coming through the door. Repeats your order, reviews it before you walk out. Just need some tweaks to the food.
Since the owner likes to call the reviews fake. Attaching my pending charge for the chicken yesterday.
Be professional king!
**editing cause the owner is outta pocket to everyone who reports a bad experience. A little class goes a long way.
Adding the requested full chicken plate per the owners updated response. It was a 3 piece that was ordered and as you can see there was the same issue on the other two pieces. I did eat a bit of the fries. Those were tasty.
As stated, I’ve been to this establishment in Apr 2025 where I ordered the oxtails that were salty. I ordered chicken and pork chops (all combo plates) on October 30 as shown in my bankcard snapshot and this was truly my experience. Mr. Burnett can continue on with his lies and speaking wrecklessl to people he does not know and continue to modify them as needed but this is still my review and I stand true to it. I wish you all the best.
The owner was not very friendly from the start, which made the experience even less welcoming. When my food arrived, the sides were just as disappointing. The mac & cheese, cabbage, and yams were all served in separate containers, and everything was watery. The yams, in particular, tasted more like Jell-O than real candied yams.
For a place advertised as a soul food spot, this was far from it. I spent $33 and honestly felt like it was money wasted. I don’t understand the good reviews, but based on my experience, this is definitely not authentic soul food. I would not recommend it.
