Burke Street Pizza has been a part of the fabric of Downtown Winston-Salem since early 2003. Started by a native New Yorker, this neighborhood pizzeria has won numerous awards, including Best Pizzeria. Our second location opened in 2010 in the Sherwood Plaza Shopping Center off of Robinhood Road. So if you’re in the mood for Authentic NY Thin-Style Pizza, heros, sandwiches, wings or salads, we got you covered. We have 3 different types of pizza by the slice at all times also. We’ve been searching for a go-to pizza spot since moving to Winston about a year ago, and it feels like we finally found it. Burke’s has that classic neighborhood vibe with good people making good food. The prices are super reasonable, and everything came out hot, fresh, and made to order.
We tried a slice, the garlic knots, and the fried ravioli. Everything was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. You can tell they take pride in what they serve and care about getting it right every time.
Definitely adding this to our regular rotation. Excited to come back and try more from the menu!

This is a great spot to get a slice. As you can see from my photo, the slice is like the size of a small newborn, so, one slice will do you, that is for sure.
And they are not ashamed of putting hella toppings on your slice. I have also gotten a whole pie from here, and those are topped similarly as well. This is a good cheap joint to grab a slice, and something quick.
This place gives you the vibes on a New York Pizzeria, I loved the brick wall, and galley style ordering area and seating area.
If you need a slice of pizza, and a drink I highly recommend this spot, their food is good, and the service matches the experience of the food!

I’m a of Northern decent (PA/NY) and since I’ve moved to Winston last summer everyone has to me I must try this pizza bc I tell folks good pizza cannot be had in the south. Well Saturday night I tried this location on Burke Street. The cramped eating area what reminiscent of a pizza parlor up north, but the tray we got was awful. The crust was literally soaking wet about 3” in diameter around the center of the pizza all the way around. I’m talking dripping wet, toppings fell off, crust like wet paper. Folks this is not how we make it up north. Furthermore the sauce was painted on and there were more toppings than there was cheese. I will not be back and people need to stop telling others this is like New York pizza because that is slander! We take pride in our pizza and this place obviously does not! I’ll keep searching for decent pizza down here, but soggy, wet, sauceless, cheeseless, bread with just meat n veggies on it well we call that a hoagie. lol UPDATE- your response was a cop out. I’m sure NO ONE WANTS A WET PIZZA. Thanks for offering to fix the problem- oh wait you didn’t do that lol wet pizza people!

I understand why Burke Street Pizza has received so many awards over the years. Great spot to walk in and get fresh pizza, QUICK and very high quality. Great for lunch, dinner, take out, and delivery. Huge fan of deep dish, grandma style, and they do it very nicely here. Awesome service and great location on Burke Street! Great ranch.

The pizza was actually very good, the sauce isnt too sweet and the cheese is quality. The best part is the dough/crust. Its crispy NY style pie (think football pizza) and has a soft pillowy inside. Very very good pizza for a down south place. 8.7 out of 10.

My friend and I ordered delivery from here and man, it was good! The edge crust was very light and had excellent crunch and chew. It was loaded with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and extra mozzarella. The center of the pie was gooey and foldable. We both loved it and had plenty of leftovers. We each ate a cold piece the next morning. We couldn’t resist! They deliver themselves for less than $5, so you don’t get inflated Door Dash menu prices and large delivery charges. The driver was very nice too.

I had a fantastic experience at Burke Street Pizza in Winston-Salem. The pizza and wings were awesome—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I also tried the salad and fried ravioli, and both were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and well-made. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to and recommending to others!

So yummy and cheesy. Perfectly greasy. Toppings are perfection.
However the cheese pizza is by far my favorite!
And the ranch……. Oh man. It is THE superior ranch out there. It’s amazing!

I have been visiting Burke for YEARS and never once had an issue. Been ordering the same thing every time. But now they cannot add topping to the pizza slices? Apparently it’s a “new” policy? I’ve never heard of a pizza place not being able make a slice of pizza. Anyways, the first time it happened I just thought it was a weird one off occurrence and walked out. However, it just happened again. So once again, my party and I walked out. I suppose we will never be back, since I cannot get the pizza I like anymore. which is unfortunate :/

I was visiting the game store across the road and decided to try out the local pizza restaurant. I was very happy with my slice. I’ve returned every time I go to the nearby game store for a slice. One of the staff working was even kind enough to offer our baby some pineapple. He is just starting to eat solid food so he’s not quite ready for pineapple but the thought was nice! Great authentic feeling Italian restaurant. I plan on returning everytime I’m in town.
