This was my first time at Burger Hut, and I’ll admit I was a little confused at first. The menu took me a minute to figure out, and when my burger came plain I was surprised…until I realized halfway through that the “salad bar” I thought I saw was actually their fresh Fixin’s Bar. Once that clicked, it made perfect sense and added to the fun of customizing your own burger.
The burger itself was flavorful, the tater tots were perfectly crispy, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed and family‑friendly, making it a great spot to enjoy a casual meal. Overall, a solid burger joint with a unique twist that I’ll be better prepared for next time!

While I normally would be recommending this place to everyone I honestly don’t think I will anymore. The employees are great don’t get me wrong it’s just the fact my husband and I both ordered meals to go, I got what I ordered perfectly fine even if the burger was kinda pink inside. My husband on the other hand didn’t get his fries and when he called to let them know they claimed he never ordered a meal when we both clearly told the cashier that we both wanted meals. The manager then claimed it must have been the apps fault and tried doubling down how my husband never ordered a meal which is a lie I was standing right there when my husband asked for a meal with regular fries.
On top of that while we were waiting I noticed the floors being covered in this wet sticky mess with no wet floor sign in sight.

Best burger joint in America. Screw tuo-n-ni (spelled backwards). Honestly the fries and the secret sauce are to die for. Burgers are great too but I could live off the fries and sauce. I just wish they had one in Red Bluff or Corning and I’d be there everyday.

This is one of a few places were it’s the bbq sauce that will bring you here. We got the big guy pounder, which is 4 patties and 4 slices of cheese (they had a toppings bar were you can put on the toppings that you want, like lettuce tomato, pickles, onions and more). The burger itself was tasty and a decent price from what you get, but with the bbq sauce it became delicious, and a place we need to come back to.

I have been going to Burger Hut for nearly 30 years, and, until recently, it was great. Sadly, I would recommend almost any place in Chico as a better choice for burgers now.
We were really hungry after swimming this week, so we ordered a medium size order of fries. The fries portion has always been legendary at Burger Hut! When the fries were delivered to our table, the order consisted of a less than half-full basket of fries that were not even hot. And the price, $7.89. EIGHT bucks for a meager order of warmish fries?! That’s absurd.
I asked for my burger to be “lettuce wrap” style, without a bun. The lettuce was so incredibly wilted and meager. I mean, it’s almost as if the employees did this as a joke. Take a look at the picture!
We asked for one burger to be cooked well done. Guess what? It arrived sorta medium, pinkish.
We also noted that the floors were pretty dirty – lots of little bits of trash, food, etc. throughout the place. The condiment bar – formerly pristine with fresh, cold produce – was a mess, too.
Lastly, there were no hours posted, but they were open at 6:15pm when we arrived. We got our food in about 10 minutes and prepped our burgers from the condiment bar by maybe 6:30 or 6:35. I went back for more onions at 6:40, and the condiment bar was completed emptied, cleaned up, closed. I asked what time they closed – again, no hours posted anywhere now – and they told me 7:00. So you close the condiments down 20 minutes before the actual closing hours?
The last straw? 3 burgers + 3 sodas + 1 “medium” order of fries? Over FIFTY dollars!

Burger Hut is one of our family’s favorite restaurants in Chico. The burgers are flame grilled right out where you can watch if you want. Burger Hut special barbeque sauce is added on the grill and cheese of your choice is also added on the grill like it should be. The best part is the condiment bar where you can add the things that make your burger awesome. Choice of sweet or dill pickle slices, jalapeno peppers, red onion rings, tomato slices, and fresh leaf lettuce. Top it with Burger Hut special fry sauce or your choice of Heinz products. Shoe string fries are done to perfection.
Burger Hut offers many other awesome items such as milk shakes and other delicious things, but I’m just reviewing my favorites. Prices are a little high, but not out of line these days. The dining room is casual and friendly or if you prefer the patio is a very nice place as well.

Look look look I have NO idea how I have lived in Chico for almost 5 years and never tried Burger hut! But I can tell you this, it is officially my FAVORITE place to eat! And that is coming from someone who just had this delivered via DoorDash so it is not even fresh! Hands down I recommend this place to anyone!! The flavor is phenomenal and the burger is juicy! I chose tater tots instead of fries and it just made it so much better!! Guarantee they will be getting a huge portion of my paychecks from now on

Visiting from Texas and so glad we stopped. My 78 year old dad is picky w/ burgers and he was very impressed. Love the large selection of fresh condiment bar. VERY TASTY!!! Great friendly staff too.
