This place turns customers away when they still have their open signs on, and the quality of the food has gone down tremendously with the change of owner and the kids they hire. Do NOT recommend, you can get better food elsewhere in Priest River.

3 stars for Burger Express. I did read some other reviews and I can validate some of the negativity I read about. I went in 4/24/2021. Ordered $35 worth of food (see attached pictures). Was told to wait at an empty counter. Front counter girl did a good job taking our order and getting us our sauce and drinks. We filled our drinks and went to a table to sit down and wait. The tables were gross. Not wiped down or sanitized at all. The floor was even more gross. The small trash can door had stains all over the front of it. Plenty of seating inside. Bathrooms are small. Waited about 15 min for our food. Fish and chips came in a grease saturated bag upside down. Fish was very chewy which means it was frozen for a long time before they cooked it. Tartar sauce was terrible. Fries were good. Burgers were not bad. Bacon cooked perfectly. All kids and one adult in the kitchen trying to figure things out. Drive thru had 6 vehicles waiting in it. This is the only burger place in Priest River that I know of. Shake are really good but how do you screw up shakes? They had few maintenance issues like broken tables and doors. Parking was no concern. Our only customer service experience was the gal that took our order and she did good.

Last summer I had a great burger. I brought my grandkids today. They were over cooked, small burgers for kids. My adult burger(the meat) was so small. It was tough, and tasted so bad I could get the horrid taste out of my mouth. Nice kids whom seem to run the place could not get our order right. We bought a large tub of onion rings that had 10 rings in it. It was horrible food.

Showed up at 7:45 exactly to order food. I knew they closed at 8 I thought I had plenty of time. My grandpa who I take care of on Sunday’s wanted a burger from there and I figured “express” in the name it would be quick? I pulled up and the kid working said “WE ARE CLOSED” yet all open signs were on including the “drive thru open” sign. closing at 8, sure, I get it but come on man, you had 15 more minutes you could have made a quick order. Definitely won’t be back. I have worked in the food industry, we take all customers and orders till our CLOSING TIME. Oh the best part you guys… I pulled into the Mitchell’s marking lot to call my grandpa to see what else he may want, someone showed up and got food. Cool dude, cool.

Food was really good, but I was in the middle of eating when the cook and some other staff member started talking about warts on their feet. I immediately stopped. I’m pregnant and can barely keep my food down anyways. I get they are teens, but learn what’s appropriate to talk about at a place people eat. I would have asked for my money back right then and there, but I ate 3/4 of my meal before they decided to be disgusting when I was sitting less than 5 feet from them. I dont care if you have one customer or 100. People are eating the food you made. You are old enough to have a job, you are old enough to know what not to say at a eating establishment. I’m not going back there.
