To round out my two day trip visiting friends up in Okoboji, we went to the Burger & Company. Previously, I saw their menu at their food truck closer to my parents’ house, but due to staffing shortages it had to close and I never made it up to their brick and mortar location in Spirit Lake. However, I will certainly be back. I loved the venue, vibe, and overall aesthetic of this place. There was an adorable outdoor patio with music playing, festoon lights, seating, and shade. Inside the atmosphere was a little bit modern combined with a little bit of a rustic barbecue feel. while the area where you order seems a little tight, there are two different seating areas adjacent to it that offered plenty of seating. The staff was so friendly, willing to make recommendations, and patient while I took a good amount of time to decide what in the world I wanted. Everything sounded SO GOOD. This place has something for everyone. I didn’t know if I wanted a grilled chicken breast burger, Turkey burger, veggie burger or go with the tried and true. This restauranteur is out of Nashville and one of their burgers even was voted number one burger in Nashville. In the end, I went with the fried pickle burger that obviously had fried pickles and a delicious patty, but also quality cheese and coleslaw. It was pretty awesome, but every option I saw sounded and looked equally delicious. The star for me were the sides. I opted for the tater tots that come with a Nashville hot seasoning and a delicious, I’m assuming homemade, ranch dressing. The fried cauliflower was my absolute favorite- SO crunchy. I certainly wouldn’t consider it in the heart of Okoboji and it might be one of the farthest restaurants in the lakes area away from the amusement park, but it is 100% worth the trip.

A recent visit to Burger & Company in Spirit Lake, IA, revealed a culinary experience. The Gouda Burger was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The burger was juicy and hot, served on a fresh bun. The fries were thin and crispy, and the sauces are made from scratch, including a BC Signature Sauce.
The cashier, June, stood out. She greeted customers with a smile and recommended the perfect burger with great enthusiasm. June’s efficiency and cheerfulness made the ordering process enjoyable. June is an asset to Burger & Company. It’s worth visiting again and hoping June is on duty. The burgers are good, but the service from June is legendary

The food was fairly simple but based on fun basics: burgers, fries & shakes. Gouda was a nice touch.

Staff was relaxed but helpful. Wish I’d had time for the shake.
This was a warm & bright midday Oct. 1. There was an impressive set of options for seating out side that were empty on this mid week day Food came super fast.

Have been to Burger & Company many times. Every time, the food is fantastic. All of the burgers are great, the shakes are rich and flavorful, and their cookies are amazing. Each and every kind. The people are friendly and the venue is fun. Would recommend and will be returning many more times. The BOT burger is my favorite and my wife loves the fried pickle burger.

Great spot for lunch. Sorta a fast casual feel where you order at the counter when you walk in and get a number and they bring the food to your table. I had the “BOT burger” which was bacon,creamy brie cheese, jalapeño, and a wonderful balsamic onion jam. It just all fit together perfectly, the creamy brie with bacon crunch, a little heat from the jalapeño cooled with the jam. Wasn’t too overpowering of a jam which I think happens with a lot of burgers with jam on them. One of the better burgers I’ve had in awhile especially one with all the complex flavors. I also had the “hot tots” which were perfectly crispy with just a touch of Nashville heat and sweet to them. I liked that the sides came with ranch. Which I assume they make in house, definitely has a distinct dill presence, which I enjoy if it’s not too much. Would highly recommend if you’re in town and need a bite. Service was friendly and prices reasonable.

As a recommendation by a good friend of ours, we decided to try this hidden gem in Spirit Lake, IA called Burger & Company. Wow! The food was fantastic! The menu had a nice variety of options. I was able to get the BC Burger + 3 with a lettuce bun for doing keto/paleo, but they also have gluten free options and even vegetarian dishes if you prefer!
We ordered a side of cheese curds which were pleasant, and tried their side of fried cauliflower which had an awesome flavor!
Jason (owner) and the staff were very friendly and the place is kept very clean and welcoming! The environment is rustic industrial feel and is family-friendly.
The location is perfect being next to various businesses and front row free parking is available!
The prices tend to be a little more than other fast food joints, although with the quality amd service, this is better than McDonald’s. I would consider this more upscale food cooked to order. They use local, fresh, and healthy ingredients.

The burger was one of the best tasting burgers I have ever had and the Oreo milkshake was a great way to end the meal. The staff here was super friendly and made our experience here even better.
