We came in because the nice fella outside talking up the burger special. The environment is nice and it smells nice, but that is the last good thing I can say.
The burgers were so overcooked they only had a charred taste and were as dry as could possibly be. They were tough and hard. The fries were good, but cold. Our food seemed to have sat for a while before being brought to us considering the cheese was melted and then re-hardened to the burgers, and our food was not even warm to eat.
This is the first “steakhouse” where we ordered burgers and were not asked how we would like them cooked (temp.. mid well or well). Honestly, the burgers tasted like the frozen patties you get from Walmart, so you aren’t missing anything if you don’t come in here.
Next, the service was terrible. Joel was not helpful, and never seemed to care that we were there. It took 5 min to get the check after he cleared our plates, but then 15 to come back and get it so we could actually pay. The overall time for 2 burgers was over 1 hour.
This may also seem a bit nitpicking, but I have never been to a steakhouse that uses different serving plates for the same food ordered by different people. Seems like for consistency, they should be the same.
Wish I had skipped this place and went somewhere else.

I have walked past this place many times. There is usually someone outside saying you should try it. I was wanting a steak and was prepared to pay for it, tonight. They did not disappoint. I had the bone in ribeye and it really was cooked perfectly. There was a massive salad bar with anything you’d want as well as a hot bar with sides. They came with the meal and the buffet was all you can eat. With a 16 oz ribeye, salad, mashed potatoes, gravy, burgundy mushrooms, and different kinds of salad I left hurt. They kicked in a brownie dessert which I took with me. Amazing.

We stopped in for a quick dinner and there was no wait!! Had Billy S. as our server and he was perfect. Made great beverage and food recommendations which we ordered. The Mrs. had the mama punch I had the breakfast juice IPA. We had burgers and the French dip and everything was great! Highly recommend and will definitely be stopping back in.

This was our first trip visiting this steakhouse. We had no wait for lunch and were really surprised how good the food was. My wife tried the salad bar with the hot vegetables and said they were delecious . I had a cheeseburger and fries and it was very tasty and prepared perfectly. We will have to go back for dinner and try one of their steaks. This was a good find for us today.

My wife and I stoped in to grab some lunch and I have to say I’m a big fan. As I’m walking in this guy told me if I left hungry it was my own fault! I completely agree! Great service and good salad bar. Must go to place! I had a steak and wife a burger plus we had salad bar. Nothing to complain about. It was great. Love from Alabama

I came to Berg Steakhouse in Gatlinburg for my son’s birthday dinner on Saturday night. The wait was only about 30 minutes, which seemed great for Gatlinburg, but I understand why now.
My son ordered a steak that had good flavor but was overcooked and chewy. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and specifically asked for it grilled, but it came out fried. The chicken was paper thin, completely dry, and so greasy it could send a healthy person into cardiac arrest. For a twenty-dollar sandwich, Chick-fil-A is miles ahead in quality.
Our server, Gabbie, had an attitude when I mentioned that I didn’t like my meal. She also tried to charge me for an add-on salad bar I never ordered. When I asked about it, she said she thought I added one, even though she took my order and knew I didn’t.
To make things worse, my daughter was excited because they were advertising free dessert, but we never got it. The whole experience was disappointing from start to finish. The food was bad, the service was worse, and it felt like I was being scammed in the twilight zone. Definitely not the kind of experience or memory you want for a birthday dinner.

Husband and I had a late lunch here on New Year’s Eve. We both had burgers and fries and added the salad bar. The burgers and fries weren’t exceptional but good. The salad bar was large with many offerings and was fresh and well stocked despite the high traffic. Overall, everything looked clean. The service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere, while cozy with the wood accents, ceiling, and seating is very dim and could use some brightening up in my opinion. The booth where we were seated was very worn and pretty uncomfortable.

First time here and we both ordered the Cheeseburger Special. They might not look like much, but they are phenomenal. Juicy, delicious, and filled us both up. We couldn’t even finish! We did not get the buffet with salad and side items, but it looked really good and I definitely want to try it another day. I, personally, love the decor and atmosphere of this place.

Waiter was sweet, but NOT informative…lol Asked us if we wanted herb butter, but failed to inform us it was a $4 up charge for EACH tiny dollop of butter… The $20 steak that was the selling point and why we got dragged into the restaurant for was “sold out” and the “free dessert” was a nasty imitation of banana pudding.
Save your money.
My prime rib was the worst I’ve ever had. Hoping I can take it home and hook it up so that u can eat it later since it cost me $40 ♀️
Pros: The 14oz Ribeye was DELICIOUS and the salad bar was fresh. I’m not going to only list the bad.
But trust me, the price isn’t worth even the delicious Ribeye. I don’t like places that use tactics to get you in the door…it’s just very deceiving.

My girlfriend and I came to Gatlinburg because we had an extra day on our trip to pigeon forge for a wedding. This was the first place we stumbled upon. We looked at the menu and decided it was a bit too expensive for us. So we kept walking around looking for something to eat. We walked by Jason Aldeans restaurant but my girlfriend insisted we eat at the burg steakhouse. So we went back. one of the best decisions we could’ve made. It was absolutely delicious. The duck (pictured)had crispy skin and was cooked to perfection! My girlfriend had the filet mignon and it was so tender you could cut it with a spoon. All around 10/10!
