The Italian sausage sandwich is old school Italian. So delicious. I’m updating my review. You have to try Buona meatball sandwiches amazing!!! Just try the meatball sandwich today. Just like my Nonna would make.

I usually use the app and use the drive-thru, but I was having a problem adding a reward that I received from a prior order.
Letty(?), the young man at the register placed the order for me. He was so nice and helpful! I sat down at a table and while I was waiting, the other team members were smiling and talking amongst themselves. I rarely see this at other places when I go pick up carry out these days. I’m happy to see young people working and not acting like it’s the last place that they want to be. The team at the Hardwood Heights location is great!

I went there expecting to be amazed with their food and overall experience. People were talking this place up. This was an experience I never thought would happen to me. I placed my order two orders of fries, a cheeseburger no mayo , a bacon cheeseburger no mayo , a chicken sandwich and a large beef with hot peppers.
There was a gentleman that was there before me, made his order and sat at a table. Ten minutes later he gets a sandwich, a minute later he’s calling the girl over explaining that he ordered sweet peppers on his beef . She takes the sandwich and returns it to the cook which prompted me to watch was going to happen.
I then watch the cook grab that very same Italian beef that was touched by the other customer rewrap it and be placed in my bag. I do not recommend anyone to go there

Excellent beef. I love that Buona Beef uses actual olives and olive oil in their hot giardiniera. It blends perfectly with their spicy, peppery beef and gravy recipe. Buona’s use of Italian bread is just flat out better than everyone else’s versions of Italian beef with French bread.
I WISH your cannoli shake was on the regular menu, rather than just being featured on the Fall menu. It really needs to be a permanent menu item. It’s simply the best.
Your employees are all very nice, too. The fact that they actually come out and ask how your meal is going is very nice and considerate. The lady that was working the front register (e.g. Maria?) today (October 23, 2025 around lunch time) was also very welcoming.

I eat here with my family often, usually dine-in. Their food and service is pretty consistent. I love their salads and chicken sandwiches. Food is hot and fresh, much better than Portillos across the street. The staff are always friendly too.

Once again our local Buona in Harwood Hts., IL has given us the continued expert food and customer satisfaction literally over five years, without fail. We have used their (Phone) orders for catering many large events with complete satisfaction and attention to details to assure order completeness and satisfaction. As a senior, I typically use the drive-thru and have yet to be disappointed with the order accuracy and food quality over these many visits. The personnel at this location are all very polite and efficient, a testimony to Buona management in selecting and training these type customer friendly people. Thanks to everyone for our great food and people experiences over these many years!

Had the Meatball sandwich and onion rings with buona sauce. The BUONA SAUCE IS AMAZING and pairs super well with the onion rings. Meatball sandwich is my go-to sandwich too. Highly recommend this combo!

Ordered a dipped Italian beef combo via the app and went through the drive-thru to pick it up. Saw a sign then that cannoli shakes were available and had to try one! Wow! The sandwich was excellent (that aroma!) and the shake a very nice surprise!
