This is what you want when it’s some different and comforting. Delicious!!! If you do not like spices do not come here, I’m talking flavor bombs!!! And the owner Ms. Lily is awesome!!! Can’t wait to try the breakfast! My wife and I enjoyed all of it.
Thank you for the great food and hospitality.

Delicious, healthy food! Made with care. I love this cafe, it’s a great place to bring friends or stop by and relax alone. The injera is so delicious, I stop by often because I crave it all the time now! Thank you for sharing delicious food with Richmond 🙂

Absolutely incredible experience! The food was packed with rich, unique flavors, especially the tibs, barley, and Ethiopian-style eggs. Lily and her husband were warm and welcoming, and the citrus espresso drink was such a fun surprise. Cozy space, beautiful energy, and I can’t wait to come back with friends. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite coffee shops in town. Black owned a nd operated. They treat their regulars like family. Bring your laptop or a book and stay for a while. LGBTQ+ friendly!

Excellent food, drinks and coffee. One thing RVA lacks is Ethiopian food options. Buna Kur Ethiopian Cafe did not disappoint and we’re excited it’s in the neighborhood! I think this will be a regular lunch spot for us. The breakfast combo is a great entry point if you’ve never tried Ethiopian cuisine — but many great options to try.

I had some free time today, so I finally visited this place that I had been wanting to try for a while. It was my first time trying Ethiopian food, so I was really excited. I truly enjoy trying new kinds of food, and before visiting, I also read through the reviews. I noticed that the owner actively replies to customers and really tries to communicate, which made me like this place even more. I personally appreciate restaurants that care about their customers.

When I walked in, the atmosphere felt more like a cozy cafe than a typical restaurant. The white and wood toned interior felt warm and welcoming.

I ordered the Breakfast Combo, Sambusa, and Baklava to go. Everything turned out to be such a great choice. All three dishes in the Breakfast Combo were completely new flavors to me, and I loved how unique and different they were. While eating, I looked up the dishes and read about them, and it made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

The Sambusa was filled with lentils. I usually do not like beans, but this one did not have any strong bean smell at all, so I actually really enjoyed it. The outside was very crispy and savory.

And the baklava was honestly the best baklava I have ever had. I would even come back just for the baklava alone. I especially liked that the nut pieces inside were finely chopped, which made the texture even better.

Overall, everything was delicious, and I will definitely be coming back again.

AMAZING QUALITY COFFEE

We got the cortado and cinnamon brown sugar latte.

This is the best cortado I have had in the Mid-Atlantic area.

The cinnamon brown sugar latte is one of the best we have tried in the region as well.

Finally was able to come out here and it blew my mind. Seriously the depths of flavor and spices that compliment one in other in all we ate was everything!! It all tasted so fresh. When we took our first bites it was like we heard music, just really transports you to another place.

Simply put they make damn good food here!

The place is cute, has a place in the back to rent event space, cute bathroom, and outlets with USB ports. It is homey, the owner and staff were so welcoming. Just beyond amazing service. The dedication and care comes through.

I will be dreaming about the baklava alone, it is a favorite pastry of mine and this was the best I’ve ever had in Richmond.

Do yourself a solid, get it together, and come here. Also the prices are worth it! Can’t beat this quality.
