Went to bull smiths tonight with my family and it was awesome! We sat outside at the bar, the vibes were great and service was spot on the bartenders were amazing and so helpful with recommendations!

I got a raspberry margarita to drink & my sister got the strawberry fields, both so good. We got the wings & pretzel for an appetizer and I got the steak tidbit for dinner! The food was great and we will definitely be back again!!

Renovated and it looks nice indoors and the outside also has some nice seating area for when the temperatures are right. Service was good. Food options were decent, sliders, Mac and cheese were ok. Price is on the higher side for some of the food options. Would have been easier if they had a drink menu or beer menu. Not bad overall to stop in for a drink.

Went on Sunday 2/15 for a meet and greet with Casey Cizikas from the NY Islanders. We had four in our group. It was pretty easy meeting Casey so that was cool but as far as the service it was horrible. The wait staff was nice but in no way were they remotely ready for this large crowd. Food was next to impossible to order let alone receive it after you ordered. I waited over an hour for a burger then just left. I told them I was leaving to go eat somewhere else. Who serves beer in plastic cups? I mean really I felt like I was back in HS. This place has potential but if Matty Martin is coming in next weekend they will need at least 5 more cooks and 5 or 6 more wait staff. We are going to meet Matt Martin then eating elsewhere unless they get their S together

Couldn’t be happier to have this open recently by me. They did an amazing renovation job on the old Croxleys. The venue is open concept and full of light. Love the garage door windows and outside bar seating. Food I’ve tried so far had been solid bar food. Great deal on taco Tuesdays. Best part of my visits have been the amazing staff. Young, energetic and friendly it’s a welcoming and refreshing scene. It’s already a regular stop. Only suggestion would be adding some happy hour food specials

My wife and I had the opportunity to surprise my best friend Chris at his new job and we’re so glad we made it happen! Bull Smith’s was a lively bar that had such an engaging atmosphere. The drinks Chris made for us were delicious and unique. The live music was bumping with throwbacks that made us hit the dance floor. The outside area was also great, filled with plenty of seats, some games and a guy making fresh sliders on the grill! Overall we loved our experience and will definitely be back to specifically get some more of Chris’ drinks and enjoy the vibes!

Attended a baby shower in the upstairs room. The place was beautiful especially like the chandelier and the wallpaper. They did a great job decorating for Halloween as well. The food was very good. Only complaint is they did not have any changing table in the upstairs or downstairs. I understand if they usually have only adults who go to have a drink but it would be a great addition to their bathroom that also has no counter space. Had to change my newborn on my legs on the floor in the bathroom. Other people at the event were telling me to change the baby on the dining table or the chair… I would never do that where people are eating. So again, if you can add a changing table in at least 1 bathroom I am sure it will help at least few of your customers especially when there is an event. Great job otherwise!

Let’s start off with what is good…

Still not sure if it was the right move to completely renovate the place… it was a nice looking older building before, old style small tile floors, half walls with glass partitions, drink shelfs… it had an old tap room style feel to it… but the new building is very nicely done, big open floor plan, great looking bar accessible to the outside patio as well, very nice outdoor patio area.

The service we had was fantastic… we were seated immediately. Our server was Brittney and she was an absolute professional and knows what she is doing. She got to the table for the drink order in under 4 minutes… checked in on us often but not over bearing. She was clearly annoyed at the speed at which her orders were coming out and apologized for the wait on the appetizers ( we weren’t complaining… but it was taking a long time for apps). We watched closely everything going on in the dining room… there was a clear disconnect from kitchen to dining room. Server helpers shouldn’t be going from table to table asking if you got the nachos ( or whatever else they might have been holding ) they should know where it’s supposed to be. We watched that one plate of nachos circle the entire dining room go back into the kitchen and comeback out with the same routine all over again till they finally figured it out. We lucked out with Brittney… she was on her game 100%.

The not so good and most important part…
The food…

Appetizers…

We ordered the Korean Bbq riblets and Macadamia encrusted fried oysters…

The Korean BBQ riblets,

not sure how the plate could be hot as hell but the ribs themselves be barely warm… whatever… that wasn’t even the part that bothered me… they were just ok… my wife and daughter were equally unimpressed… nothing about them was even remotely Asian flavored and as a matter of fact it was bothering me the whole time that they tasted extremely familiar… and then it hit me… I know this sauce… it’s sweet baby rays, I use it all the time at home… I would almost guarantee it… maybe some extra spice thrown in… but I know that flavor for sure.

The Macadamia encrusted fried oysters with mango chutney,

Very long description for sure… they were an absolute disappointment. Not even warm, very tiny, mostly breading that had no trace of macadamia at all in its makeup. Yes it’s fish but the smell shouldn’t be off putting either. The mango chutney should’nt be put on with shovel… half a teaspoon full would have sufficed.

My daughter had a fried chicken sandwich that she described as “generic fried chicken sandwich” when I asked her how it was … she is easy to please and tiny… anytime I ask her how something is she usually says I like it or it’s good… this time I got… it’s a generic fried chicken sandwich and… the bun to meat ratio is ridiculous… the bun is huge for how small the chicken is and it’s dry… like I said… she’s tiny… and the sandwich seemed small to her.

Me and the wife split 2 different orders of slider and an order of fries,

Hot fried chicken sliders and the Jack Daniel’s Bbq beef sliders ( that wasn’t the real name more on that in a second ),

Hot fried chicken sliders… nothing to write home about other than the fact that once again if it’s going to be the smallest piece of meat you could find USE A SMALLER BUN… the meat gets lost in the bun altogether… there were trace elements of slaw but hardly enough to get a taste of and the sauce was nearly non existent… again… dry.

The short rib sliders… my wife tried these before I did… I could see the look on her face… not pleased… I said so what do you think… she said I think they pulled it out of the fridge section at the supermarket… it’s Jack Daniel’s Bbq beef in a tub… she can be more critical than me… she was not wrong… it s exactly how I would have described it… it’s ok for a Tuesday night when you worked late and have to nuke something quick so you can eat… not for a restaurant.

Last thought…

Valet parking unnecessary… nice place, step up your food game… it shouldn’t feel like a hotel bar restaurant at an airport layover.

Came here for dinner on a Friday around 8pm. Had a few drinks, while the dinner menu was a bit pricey the food came out good. Service was a little spotty, no cutlery or napkins if served at the bar and difficult to get a refill. The real chaos seems to start as the security arrives at the entrance and the carousel of Ubers start to surge around 9:30p.

The bartenders change to what seems are people even younger than those they’re serving. The dinner/restaurant menus disappear and the drink prices raise up. $8 beers are now $10, cans reach up to $12, the rack drinks come out as they cash in on the new arrivals.

By 10pm, Bull Smith’s drops the restaurant act and turns into a full-blown nightlife circus. If you came for dinner, finish your drink and escape before the $12 cans and Vodka Cran crowd take over.

Went here last week with a group of buddies. Wings were great, beer was cold and tasty (clean lines) and interior esthetics were on point. Service was just OK. Could have been a tad more attentive. But all in all, I’d go back. They did a great job with the establishment.

Came here last Thursday with my husband. May I say I never leave reviews on restaurants but this place was so good I just had too. Firstly me and my husband were greeted right away by a nice worker. We decided to sit by the bar where we then found out about the deal… It was $5 martinis and $5 salads. I was struggling a little to pick out a martini so I asked the bartender to just make me whatever he then proceeded to ask me what I like most about drinks and said he knew the perfect martini to make me… and he was spot on. The $5 salads was a great addition too, I decided to get a baby arugula salad with shrimp. The salad was a great size portion and the shrimp was seasoned well. Parking was iffy but with the deal, taste of the meal, and chat with the workers it’s definitely worth it.
