Wings from mild to super hot with blue cheese or ranch dip plus fries & beer in an unfussy setting.

A must-stop wing spot!
Buffalo Reef never disappoints. The wings are always perfectly cooked—crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor—and the sauces complement them beautifully without overpowering the chicken. Every bite is downright delicious. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions you get, making it easy to come back again and again.
On top of the great food, the customer service is welcoming and friendly, and the ice-cold beer hits the spot every time. If you’re anywhere in the Fort Worth Beach area and craving excellent wings, Buffalo Reef is an absolute must stop. 5/5 Highly recommended and will be back again!

Eh, we came here while traveling because some of the reviews implied it was that good. For us it was tolerable and it was disappointing because I seen the vibe it was giving and I wanted to enjoy the nostalgic old school diner feel. It didn’t seem like it was very inviting for “us”. Our server was very curt the entire time…not rude but it definitely could be perceived as such. The water taste awful, I was kinda shocked by that and disappointed because I drink a lot of water. The wings had a smell…and in hindsight it could be due to the water. I did love how sauced the wings were–i love wet wings! I had the mango habanero and he had garlic parm…which I love but it was lacking in the flavor profile to us. The chili cheese fries are either small or humongous lol…we were taken back to see them served in a medium sized mixing bowl hahaha definitely plenty to share but needed more cheese. The bowl is too deep to not have layers of the topping. Once you eat the top it’s no longer chili cheese, just plain curly fries. The ranch was pretty good to be homemade and you get a very large soda. It lacked diversity and that said much for me..I wouldn’t return voluntarily but I do think they have a target crowd as their tables were full, try it out!

This is a local favorite, they have been open a really long time and you can tell by the aged interior that they stick with the classics. They have a small menu and they do what they are comfortable with. Their specialty is how they do their wings and their wings alone. They have other things they do as well but wings are what they are known for. Their garlic parm is very very garlic and I’m okay with that. Their chili for their fried is really thick and they have massive drinks and good draft selections. The server came back constantly and checked on us and we had a good time.

Visited Buffalo Reefs with a group of friends. I’ve been here before and, to be honest, I didn’t care for the wings back then—they were overly sauced and ended up slimy, which really ruined the fried texture.
This time around, I decided to try the burger instead, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, it wasn’t much of an upgrade. The patty tasted like something from a high school cafeteria—plain and uninspired.
That said, the curly fries were the highlight of the meal—crispy, flavorful, and definitely the best part of what I ordered. I also liked the large drink cups, which are a good value.
Overall, the wings can be a hit or miss depending on the day, but they’re usually way too drenched in sauce. It’s disappointing because a well-fried wing shouldn’t be soggy.
I wouldn’t choose this place on my own, but I’ve come along when friends suggest it. Most of the time, they end up realizing why I don’t recommend it.
Verdict: Decent fries and drinks, but the main dishes leave a lot to be desired.
2 out of 5 stars.

This was my first experience here and the wings were a 10/10! I got Medium and teriyaki. The medium flavor is perfection. I can’t wait to go back and have more. We also got the fried pickle spears (which I ate all of). Our family of 3 got out of there for less than $60 and that’s with an appetizer and drinks, so great prices! Definitely my new go-to wing spot.

Great wings that never disappoint! Local staple & Our family has been coming here for years. It is a laidback place to come relax after a day at the beach. Service is awesome, beers are cold, and food is fresh, reasonably priced, & comes in large portions. The reason the 4 star for atmosphere is the tables are not always level, the surroundings could use some updates & a lil bit of love in the cleaning department. Always cold, so bring a jacket! Added a pic of the kids chicken tender meal!

SHOOOOWIE, we love Buffalo’s Reef. I have been coming here for 20 years, and it has not let me down one single time. Buffalo’s Reef is the wing joint we compare all other wings to- and they almost always fall short. Between the tang of the wings and the most perfect bleu cheese- I can’t decide which one I like better, but I do know that they’re a total *chefs kiss when pairing the two together. We also love that they have the old school smiley face fries and make sure to order them every trip as a treat! My kids love that their meal is always served on a frisbee, and is polished off with a rice krispy treat! We love this place!

We have been coming to buffalo reef for over 30 years!! It has always been the best wings in town. This time the entire meal was a disaster!! The wings looked white from freezer burn, the chicken on the teriyaki sandwich was unevenly cooked and tough around the edges where it was thinner, the Cole slaw tasted nasty and smelled even worse!, the replacement potatoes salad was not good either. So the waitress sent the manager over ! This is where it gets interesting !! The manager proceeded to tell us the wings are never frozen and they come from so many sources its hard to keep up!,I asked if she had tasted the Cole slaw and she said the date on the package was fine .WOW! as for the chicken sandwich she said WELL HE ATE IT !! This is a manager that not only doesn’t get it!,She couldn’t have cared less !! These are issues that should be looked into ?? I am not looking for a free meal !!!I just thought she might like to know !! (MY BAD FOR THINKING THAT)It has been a great run for over 30 years ,and I will miss this place .But with a response from management like that its over for us !!!!She gave us a five dollar discount and I left the wings there ..Maybe they are so busy now that they don’t need our business anymore !!! That’s fine !! I am sure there are other restaurants that are eager to earn our business and we will be spending our money there !!!
