We went for lunch this last Wednesday . Apparently they have $1 wing day on Wednesdays so we ordered garlic Parmesan and mild bbq wings – they were good (Rating – 3.5/5)

Our son ordered “ little tapper sampler” – he really liked all of it (Rating – 5/5)

I ordered the El Diablo burger with en fueglo style . Coming from Asia , I usually can handle the spice level at most American restaurants but boy this was a humbling experience. The burger was so spicy – it had like 15 jalapeños and the sauce was hot and the en fueglo style meant the burger patty itself had more jalapenos in it. We literally removed each of those jalapeño bits and then had the burger – not enjoyable . We also wonder if there are many people who can handle this much heat . It felt more like the “can u eat the spiciest wing in buffalo wild wing challenge“ (Rating – 2.5/5). Maybe they should put a warning next to this item.

Ambience , cost of food and service were great – giving the cozy typical American bar feel with stunning views of a small stream with snow everywhere around (Rating – 5/5).

Overall rating – 3.5/5. We will definitely try other not so spicy burgers next time and likely our rating will be higher .

Great little place. Been here twice now. I elected to eat elk and bison patties on the burgers. Awesome choice! I opted for a large root beer from tap. You can get your fill here pretty quick. Great food, nice people, good price for the price. I spent about 15 to 30 for myself both times.

So when you rate a burger, what do you rate? The toppings? …or the meat? I rate the meat as toppings are just toppings. There is no other burger place that you can get 3 different types of meat in one burger. The Triple Threat at Buffalo Tap has Elk, Bison, and Beef all in the same burger. There is no better burger than this in Minnesota and I’m rating it 10 out of 10 with the #1 Minnesota burger spot all day long. Buffalo Tap has it all… the Atmosphere, the Menu, the Food, and the Service. You all can thank me later for this one. Enjoy…

Service not great… extremely slow when they aren’t very busy… I don’t know. The vibe was just off and.. words just can’t even explain to be quite honest – I’ll leave it at that. Also need to add my friend got the salmon, and there was worms all over it (see one pic below). Absolutely unbelievable. I’m sure it was just an honest mess up one time 🙂

Everything was great! Loved the atmosphere and service. I’m vegetarian and ordered the adult grilled cheese, sub chips for a side caesar salad which came with a yummy breadstick. Sweet potato tots and potato wedges were both great sides also. Fish sandwich was huge!

I am 45-year’s -old, I’ve had my fair share of meals out. I’ve sampled countless versions of classic American dishes, and the French Dip has always been a personal favorite. You reach a point where you think you’ve seen and tasted every possible variation, from the passable to the truly great. Then, you walk into a place like The Buffalo Tap in Savage, and a single sandwich completely redefines the standard.
I can say, without a shred of hyperbole, that their French Dip is the absolute best I have ever had in my life.
Let’s start with the foundation, the element that immediately sets it apart: the bread. This isn’t your standard, soft, forgettable roll. The culinary genius in the kitchen decided to encrust the bread with Parmesan cheese. The result is a masterpiece of texture and flavor. It arrives with a golden, crispy exterior that gives way to a soft interior, and that savory, nutty flavor of the toasted Parmesan provides a perfect, robust counterpoint to the richness of the beef. It’s a game-changing innovation that I never knew I needed.
Now, for the main event: the meat. All too often, French Dips can be a bit of a disappointment in this department—a few meager slices of beef lost in a sea of bread.

Not here.

When I say this sandwich was piled high with meat, I am not exaggerating. It felt like they packed three times the amount of thinly sliced, perfectly tender roast beef you’d get anywhere else.
(Real roast beef not the kind u get frozen).

Each bite was a substantial, savory mouthful of high-quality beef, so juicy and flavorful it could have stood on its own.
The combination of that magnificent Parmesan crust and the sheer volume of perfectly cooked beef is what elevates this from a simple sandwich to a culinary experience.
Dipping it into the rich, savory au jus was pure bliss. The crust held its integrity, softening just enough to absorb the flavorful liquid without turning to mush.

The Buffalo Tap itself has that comfortable, unpretentious vibe of a true local favorite, making the experience even better. But frankly, they could be serving this sandwich out of a shack and I’d still be singing its praises.

If you are a connoisseur of sandwiches, a lover of French Dips, or simply someone who appreciates it when a restaurant takes a classic and perfects it, you owe it to yourself to visit The Buffalo Tap. This isn’t just a good sandwich; it’s the new gold standard by which all other French Dips will be judged. An absolute must-try.

Cozy, cabin-like atmosphere with a wide variety of food options on the menu. Has both Coke & Pepsi products, which was unique! They have a pull-tab machine, which adds a fun touch.

Our waiter, Dan H., was fantastic—his service was truly outstanding. Very hard working individual.

Hellfire Wings: If you’re a fan of extremely spicy food, these wings are a must-try! They’re an 11/10 on the hotness scale. The spice builds gradually but still maintains great flavor. My husband, who always orders the spiciest items on the menu, finally met his match with these wings. Watching them kick his a** was both surprising and entertaining!

Highly recommend this spot for great food, great service, and a little extra heat!

Great place for bar food, beers and sports. The cheese curds and burgers are great. I don’t recommend the adult grilled cheese.

Prices are decent and the staff is amazing.
