I only got the corn nuggets and the peanut butter French silk pie, but they were both delicious. The service and food preparation were also very fast. They do takeout and dine-in, and you can choose where to sit.
The corn nuggets are really good! They’re crispy on the outside with a creamed corn-like texture on the inside that has a balanced, salty-sweet flavor.
Unfortunately, by the time I was able to eat the pie, it had melted a bit, but it was still very good. It’s a peanut butter and chocolate flavor with a soft crust and topped with whipped cream. It’s quite decadent.

While visiting Plains, GA, we stopped at this small cafe for lunch. We had been told by the National Park Service employee of the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park that the cafe closed at 2:00pm. It is small but sufficient. With an ample menu, most people should find something they like. The fried green tomatoes were crispy and hot. It was a nice stop.

Great local restaurant with a nice selection of dishes, deserts, and drinks including beer and wine. Located in the old bank building the atmosphere is small town cozy. Food was good. We had the daily special steak and Swiss with sweet potatoes fries, Southern Berger, onion rings and a grilled cheese. Staff is friendly and efficient. We were even surprised with a sample of a a freshly made delicious blueberry crumble cake.

We ordered patty melt, cheeseburger, and fries. Patty melt and cheese burger were juicy and full of flavor. Fries were thin and over cooked. It is a quaint little diner with only 9 small tables and a bar for sitting. Food is cheap and decent tasting.

Loved our experience here! Came to town to visit Jimmy Carter’s hometown and learn more about him, which led us to the Buffalo Cafe at the Old Bank. The food was wonderful and prompt. I had the sweet potato fries as well, so super yummy! Highly recommend!

A good place to get a bite to eat in downtown Plains near the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park. I was hoping to try their BBQ, but since they were expecting a crowd from the SAMS Shortline Railroad that afternoon, they were working off of a limited menu. I had a double cheeseburger instead it and it was pretty good. The staff was friendly as well, keeping their patience with all of the questions as to why folks couldn’t get something off of the regular menu.

Stopped off to grab some lunch in Plains at the Buffalo Cafe at the Old Bank. It’s a small cafe on Main Street in Plains. They have several seating areas, one at the front of the location and an indoor patio out back. We were told by the staff that Jimmy Carter donated the money to have the indoor patio built and that it was a great place to sit and have lunch and they were absolutely right. The food was good and got us out of the cold for a little while. Check it out if you’re in the area.

Our family of 6, 4 children ages 10-16, drove here to visit because online the meals looked decently priced. Upon entering we found no seating to fit our family and a sign stating tables are not to be moved. Their largest table sits 4. My husband and I usually split purchasing meals as he help 2 kids & I help 2 kids order. We were quickly informed after everyone came in the door & ordered that we would have to stand in line to order our food. When my husband got to the register he was automatically charged an 18% gratuity. When he questioned why, he was quickly informed with an attitude from the cashier that we were a party of 6. I was a few people in line behind and without asking she charged me the 18% gratuity. I inquired & said so, even though we cannot sit together, we’ve waiting in line to order food & we have to make our own drinks, you are still charging 18% gratuity out the gate? Before I could finish my statement she said, you all together ain’t you? I said yes ma’am we are, but this is not what we drove here expecting. My oldest had not ordered yet. When she did, she was also charged & the only comment was you part of that group too. All in all, a meal for 6 cost our family over $100 for what was supposed to be a simple lunch for us while traveling. We recieved no more service at our 2 seperate tables than anyone else in the cafe. While we do believe in tipping fairly & generously, I felt very insulted & taken advantage of being forced to pay gratuity to serve ourselves & not even enjoy our meal together.
I do thank the kitchen staff for preparing a good lunch for my family.
