I come here often. The food is definitely a bit overpriced but it is good and consistent. The customer service is great as well, compared to other Jamaican spots.

With that being said I got there the other day in the perfect time slot to get the lunch special. I asked about it and the lady said “we don’t have the lunch special right now”. I was so confused. If yall don’t want to offer it please TAKE THE DAMN SIGN DOWN. What’s the point in having it up?

Besides that, I definitely reccomend this spot.

The workers are so friendly with great service. they played true Jamaican tunes which created an amazing atmosphere. the food was amazing. I ordered curry goat and sweet chili chicken which both came in large portions. the goat fell off the bone and was super tender. the chicken was great too! I definitely recommend

Take out Jamaican. Excellent food, very friendly and accommodating staff. I love Buff Patty. Gave atmosphere only 3 stars since it’s a takeout place, not a sit down restaurant.

My family has been patronizing Buff Patty for almost the 20 years that we’ve lived in the community. I enjoyed going in person to get my curry chicken and white rice or ground provision. On this occasion, I placed an order through Door Dash that came to more than $80. When the food arrived there was only a large stew peas and rice and a small one, which certainly didn’t total $80. It had not been the first time that items were missing, and I’m not casting blame as this can be on the part of Door Dash or the restaurant, but this time this was too large a discrepancy to overlook. I called the restaurant and spoke to a female employee. I explained that I didn’t receive everything that I ordered and she immediately casted the blame on the Dasher. I wanted to get to the bottom of the matter so I asked her if they had cameras in the restaurant and suggested that we review the cameras with the cops present. I was not blaming the restaurant, I just wanted to get an objective party involved and that is why I suggested the police officers. I did not accuse any one of stealing, I was merely outraged by the discrepancy between the expected 5-6 meals and the 2 that I received. Furthermore, I was bothered by how nonchalant the restaurant employees were about the apparent discrepancy. This could never be good for business even if the fault was Door Dash’s. Anyway, my husband and I decided to go to the restaurant to speak with management and to see if they would review the video to see where the issue happened. My husband tried to ask the employees how all those items could fit in on bag, but they insisted that everything was packed. I spoke with two female employees and asked to speak with the owner/manager and I mentioned getting the cops involved for the sake of reviewing the cameras. The main female employee that I spoke with called the manager, and right away he was angry. Mind you, I know my people, and the one thing you don’t want to do is start a conversation off in an angry tone, so I maintained my composure the entire time to keep the conversation open. The first thing that he said when he got on the phone was “what is the problem.” He didn’t ask this to be customer friendly, it was more along the lines of “weh you a bother me for, lady.” I attempted to explain the issue, and right away he went from 50 (because he was already angry), to 100. I had to say to him, “Sir, why are you going from 0 to 100? There is no need for you to be angry.” I tried to explain to him that we could discuss this as two grown adults. I tried to appeal to his sense of professionalism, but all he said to me was that I had been threatening to call the cops and “that was annoying.” Again, I only mentioned that we get the cops involved because I didn’t think that they would want to review the cameras without the presence of the officers. At no time did we hurl any accusations at the employees or management. In fact, my husband even said to the female employees, “we’re not saying that you guys did anything wrong.” To make matters worse, the manager hung up the phone on me as I was trying to explain myself to him. I had never felt so belittled in a long time, and to think that we had been customers for so long. Both my husband and I knew the owner, Sophia C. I remember once when I ordered food and they forgot the rice and she brought it to our house. This is what I call customer service. I tried to appeal to the manager or whomever the male figure was that I spoke with over the phone. I tried to explain the history with Sophia and establish the fact that we were decent upstanding customers, but I guess only people who go in swearing and making a lot of noise get some respect and attention. Some people think that Jamaican restaurants have poor customer service and this experience did not help that stereotype. I was very disappointed to know that the manager couldn’t have the level headedness to just listen. If you treat customers badly, your employees will follow suit.

Started out strong but has steadily declined in quality over time. Most recently, I ordered the Jerk Pork with Rice & Peas and was disappointed to receive mostly inedible fat, plain white rice instead of traditional rice and peas, and no jerk sauce — a key element of the dish.

That said, the patties remain a consistent highlight — flavorful and well-seasoned. Hoping the rest of the menu can return to the standard they once set.

I had some of the best oxtail stew and fried whiting. Accompanied with vegetables and rice and peas it was delicious. I highly recommend this place. Also their patties are excellent.

One day the salmon with rice is $21 the next day it’s $26. On top of that the salmon most of the time isn’t even all the way cooked. The mac and cheese it’s horrible. The servers would give you an attitude and act like they don’t see you waiting online, a couple of times I’ve walked out and went next door to the Spanish restaurant. The atmosphere is okay because of the music. And I don’t know who’s doing the plantains but come on now it’s always burnt with no taste. My salmon dish with white rice plantains with no vegetables a side of macaroni and cheese came out to $35

Tried a few different dishes here and the food is good. It does seem over priced and inconsistent with pricing structure (salmon dish is $24 but if you get salmon alone it’s $14, so you charging $10 for rice?) but nevertheless it’s good.

I have lived in Elmont for over 40 years and I recently started trying my local restaurants. I have quite a few gems and Buff Patty is amongst the top 3. OMG the fritters are delicious and one cook makes me come back every time . The stewed snapper! The ackee and salt fish my top 3. But I have tasted everything on the menu because I keep going back to the codfish fritters and today I had banana fritter Lawrd! So good.
Precious is so courteous and give good customer service. The chefs in the back my compliments to you all I don’t know who cooked today but you may have a marriage proposal if you aren’t married.
Blessings to you all!
