I am not one for reviews. But ever since they reopened the prices are not in line with a taqueria and the food I ordered was pretty much inedible. Ordered the Milanesa it was cooked on a flat top and burnt. Breading was soggy and fell off of the meat that was questionable on eating. I ordered a margarita while I waited, not sure what the issue was but the margarita was not what one of expected. Taste was off and price was $12.

I’ve been trying to go to this place for years and every time I’ve gone it was closed. I finally got the chance today and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the steak taco totally kick ass, they have what’s called Tacos El Pastore, Al Trompo. That means that the spicy pork tacos are roasted on a spit. Those tacos were absolutely wonderful. The chef was very nice and even was so kind to make a special avocado salsa for me as a courtesy. I would highly recommend this place and I can’t wait to go back.

Such a hidden gem in Algonquin! The Al Pastor tacos were incredible — so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The chips and homemade salsas and sauces were some of the best I’ve had, especially the smoky chipotle one. I also loved the mango margarita — fresh and light and perfect with the tajin rim. The owners were so kind and welcoming, and great food all around. Can’t wait to come back!

We arrived at about 5:35 on a Friday with 5 people in our party. Sat right away, it took awhile to get our menus and took awhile to get our drink order taken and to get the complimentary chips and variety of salsas. The place had maybe 4 other parties seated. Waitress took our orders. Salsas and chips were very good! We waited about an hour to get our food. One person in our group at a time with several minutes between each of us. We had to ask for ” to go containers right away. We received all of our food by about 640. The food tasted just ok. Not the best food I’ve had. I don’t know if this place typically only has one waitress and one chef. And their young children, one was an infant was also in the dining room,alone. A little uncomfortable.

It was our first time trying this place out after seeing a post on Facebook about their taco Tuesday deal of 4 tacos for $8. I’m glad I did because the tacos were so good! Especially the steak and pastor! We will definitely be back. I cannot wait to try the other things on their menu!

I ordered a bunch of taco meat/fixins for my daughter’s birthday and I got tons of compliments. Everything was as delicious as it is when sitting down and eating in the restaurant. Will definitely be ordering from them for large events in the future. The barbacoa, steak, and pork are my personal favorites, and it was so nice to have leftovers.

This place is a gem. The food is delicious, nicely presented and the portions are generous. The service is outstanding, so warm and welcoming. So many great options on the menu, this restaurant is both wonderful if you prefer a sit down meal and you want to experience excellent hospitality, or you don’t have much time and just want to grab one of the best quesadillas and enjoy it on the bench, looking at beautiful Fox River.

We just tried this place for the first time! Wish we tried it sooner, being in Algonquin down the road for five years. I went in and ordered to go, should have called achead cuz it was busy! That’s my fault though! Took a little bit. I had steak, pork and shrimp tacos and ceviche torta! The tacos were amazing! Steak on the tacos was probably the best steak we have had around town! Will be going there from now on! Cute place inside too! The chef and server were very nice and can tell they care a lot about their customers!
