I live close to Myrtle Beach and In the area that I live there are a multitude of “meat and 3” restaurants that serve fantastic country meals. When I come back to NC to visit my parents, I struggle with being able to find anything close to the quality of food that I can find in the SC Low Country. Buddy’s is amazing!!! This food is cooked with love, butter, meat fat and all of the seasonings. The collards were perfect. My 9 year old nephew, “the pickiest eater in America” loved the spaghetti and the Oreo mud pie and he said Buddy’s is a new favorite for him!!!! He then said he knows why they call it Buddy’s place, “because the food is so good that you want to be buddy’s with the cooks” . The owner stopped by our table to see how our meal was and server was great!!! I will be going back and I can’t wait to try something else as all of the food looked so good but it will be hard to venture away from their amazing County food.

Try to eat at local places when we can. Came to Mt. Pleasant to go to White Owl Antique Mall, decided to try Buddy’s. Got one of the lunch specials, country style steak. Wow! Had great, home style cabbage and green beans! Awesome atmosphere, friendly staff and rich history!

Cold mashed potatoes in a cup w cold chicken dumplings to force it down . All my food was put in cups . That’s right folks chicken dumpling from a cup ! Who needs a fork or spoon when you can just guzzle it down straight from a CUP . I mean who doesn’t like cold hard mashed potatoes in the shape of a cup . DELICIOUS NOT

This was the worst experience I ever had. I ordered 3 kids meals first to get there before mine, my brother and his girlfriend ordered theirs with kids. I only got 2 kids meals, rest had to wait. My waitress said sorry we have new cook not sure why they didn’t fix all 3. So after bout 10 more minutes kids meal finally come. My brother and his girlfriend come waitress went to wrong table with it. Then myself and my husband got our food. Husband got side Mac and cheese was dried out and crusty. So he ask for squash which look like it just sat and soaked up pot grease. Then my grandson eating his cheese burger at table with my brother takes a bit and pulls a (STRING) out of his mouth that was in his food. So ask for another burger for him. In checking out and complaining ask to speak to the manager, I’m told this girl was as good as I get because the manager is one who prepared our food. Oh really remember at beginning I was told new cook. Also my glass, kids, brother or my husband glass never got refilled. I’ve had something go wrong before at other places but oh my God this was night mare. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone

My son & I have only been to Buddy’s twice(both times coming from a doctor’s appointment), but each time we’ve been there was a nice experience. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the prices are comparable to everywhere else that serves the same type of cuisine. Will be back!
