Blue cheese lovers need to know that the Henry Ford pizza isn’t your only choice at Buddy’s. I don’t care for red onions myself, and my wife rejects bacon in her diet. Instead, we still order from the 2012 Great Lakes Pizza Collection, a “hidden menu” that contains the Lake Michigan (a blue cheese offering). Servers are aware of its existence, and you can order it through the build your own option. The Lake Michigan consists of seasoned ground beef, caramelized onions, blue cheese, Motor City cheese blend or standard brick cheese, and tomato basil sauce. I love the sweetness of the caramelized onions, and the blue cheese pairs so well with the special crust. Ground beef is the standard, but you can adjust the spice level to your own liking by substituting Italian sausage and/or adding a pinch of spice mix that you can ask for on the side. Delicious! We’ve ordered it so many times when we come in on Wednesday afternoons that we just say to our usual waitress: “Give me the usual!” It doesn’t get any better than this!

Most people know Buddy’s as the gold standard of Detroit style pizza. Tonight I ventured away from the norm and ordered a smash burger and it was AMAZING!
I like things a little spicy so I got the Spicy Guac Smash Stack. It came with a side of crispy seasoned thin fries.

Nice comfortable dining vibe. The Detroiter Pizza was phenomenal, and the service from staff was so considerate and friendly. Their people need to train other restaurants on how to offer Top Notch service to customers. I wish there was a way to give this place a !

So love Buddy’s, food is always good, service is usually good. However, I don’t know if it was the manager or not, but when we come to a place for a birthday and when you bring food out for someone/the table and fat shame him is egregious on so many levels. What if he had an eating disorder? Saying “o you ordered this? Well I’ll put it over here so other people can have some, don’t want you eating it all”. Grace is awesome, did a great job, the manager needs to be spoken to.

We had an amazing experience at Buddy’s! From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcomed by the staff. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service made us feel right at home.
The highlight was definitely the Spicy Italian pizza — perfectly cooked, loaded with flavor, and absolutely delicious. Easily one of the best pizzas we’ve had in a while.

Buddy’s is matured with a family style casual dining. Would love to see a revamp. Pizzas were kinda good like original buddy’s taste. Can they be better – yeah sure. The tall girl serving us was very customer oriented though it would’ve been better if she ask the type of dough we will take. However, the thing that put me off was the one server gent who was yawning with his mouth open ♂️

It had been FOREVER since I had Buddy’s Pizza (there aren’t many, or any that I know of north of Oakland County). Since we were in the area, we stopped at the Auburn Hills location. It was a weekday, just after the lunch hour & we were seated right away in the bar area (not a request but we didn’t care). It was nice, kinda quiet & away from the busy dining area. It took a bit for the server to come around but when they did, we ordered right away, we were starving. Food came out promptly, we had only ordered a small pizza to split & a small salad. Salad was just as we remembered. The pizza looked the same, however we feel like it was rushed. It was slightly underdone. It definitely did not have that glorious crispy bottomed crust we were so looking forward to. We also ordered the tiramisu. It was delicious but could do without the intense covering of cocoa powder, we were literally choking on it lol. A nice dusting would’ve sufficed. We then waited for a box & our bill for a ridiculous amount of time. It had died down & there was not much reason for the lag. She was on her cell phone behind the bar for a bit. We eventually got out of there, close to 2 hours later. It left us feeling like we hadn’t missed out on much after all of these years.
