The owners here are very friendly and put hard work into their food. Danny was amazing. The food was so good and the BBQ sauce was flavorful. I got the chicken and it was very tender. The smoked sausage was full of flavor and very quality meat. One of the best BBQ sausage I have had and I am not a huge sausage person. I may have stolen it from my Fiance when I tried it! The sides are good as well. I recommend their potato salad and trying their baked beans. Get their pork skins while you are there! You won’t regret it! First time trying Buddies and I am impressed! Also, how the restaurant was named Buddies is super cute. I will definitely be back when in this area. I truly hope this restaurant continues to succeed.

This first time I ate here I had a pork bbq sandwich. This time I had the four piece chicken finger meal with fries.
Warning the portions may be smaller than you are used to. However the food is good. Not only did I have the chicken fingers. I also had dessert.
Get the Chocolate Peanut butter Fig cake! The fig icing/jam is soooo good!
Also, the chicken sauce is really good! I used every bit of it. It had a Vinaigrette taste to it.
Even though I thought the portion was small. It was the perfect amount for me. It filled me up. Someone else it might not be enough for. I can’t wait to go back here. Oh and Buddy is the cutest sweetest thing ever!
FYI: There really isn’t any seating. Maybe one table outside.

My husband, daughter, and I were on the way home from Enterprise, Alabama to Illinois and found this place. Owners are wonderful! Staff was very friendly! BBQ ribs and brisket sandwich was delicious! Watched them hand cut and dip the onions. Batter was delicious! Banana pudding was the best I’ve ever had! We sat outside and ate. It was a quiet place to sit, relax and enjoy our food. Thank you for continuing your father’s legacy! He would be very proud!

If you want delicious, no frills BBQ and sides, and you’re in the Pelham/Helena/Alabaster area, you must make a trip to Buddy’s at least once. The perfectly prepared BBQ pork sandwich is a generous serving (falling off the bun), and the sauce is delicious without being too sweet. Same goes for the baked beans. Regulars recommended the beef, and the ribs. Buddy’s brags about their gigantic “almost a pound” burgers. I can’t wait to try the okra on my next visit! My recommendation: get a PINT size of the best banana pudding in Shelby County; a half pint isn’t enough. Exceptional service and a friendly welcome when I visited!

I hadn’t been to Buddy’s since my 10yr old was born. I ate there almost everyday when I was pregnant with her. It was great then and still is. Their burgers are among the best I’ve had. The owner and the young lady who cooks are very friendly. Oh let’s not forget the cake. Must have!! Will def be back to see if those ribs are still as good as they were.

I went there today with my son. I used to live in Simmsville Road, now a part of Chelsea many years ago and would frequently pick up food from Buddy. Today, when driving down Hwy 31, I told my son the best BBQ stop used to be near here. When I saw it was still open we went in. Buddy was there and the food was as good as I remembered. My son ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and I ordered a BBQ beef plate with potato salad and slaw. Everything was delicious. My son especially enjoyed the sauce. We will definitely be back soon.

The food was cooked but not seasoned I order one slab of ribs, part was great and parts were too tough to chew. The back beans taxes like they came out of a can and were just heated up with no added seasons. They did put some pork sheds of meat however since the year was not seasoned then it did not make a difference. I also had coleslaw which was ok. The banana pudding could need work. I do want to say the staff was friendly and pleasant. I just wish the food I ordered was great as the compliments that others stated.
