Such a slow location 1/13/25 waited forever for cold food. I was so hungry after a 8hr work day I ate most of my meal due to being starving and lack of patience but my wife dared to go back to the counter to get hot food and still got like warm chicken. My ribs were like two days old dried out, the brisket was hard and seemed reheated. Best part was my chicken breast and wing but the flavor was odd/off. Our “premium” side of Mac n cheese was ice cold. Green beans were ice cold.

Stop to get a pulled pork dinner on the way home. All I could eat was the corn and hush puppies. Meat was small portion looked more like sliced pork than pulled pork. Fries were stale. I would have taken it back but its a 25 minute drive from home to there. This was by far the sadest meal I have ever gotten from here. Will think twice about stopping again. Picture attached is what was actually in the meal minus the hush puppies all I did was stir in the bb sauce.

I’m gonna start out with that. We were very disappointed. The food was very bland very dry and lacking freshness. The ribs were extremely salty bad enough that it affected my vision afterwards. The server asked me if I wanted barbecue on my meat and I said yes, it came out dry how barbecue but they have barbecue at the table. They only have hot and mild. I think the best thing that I ate was the hush puppies. The chicken was extremely small like the size of a Cornish hen and I almost choked on it. It was so dry. The ribs looked like they’ve been in a warmer for a week. They were dry. The only flavor was salt and the brisket. It was low-key average just not enough of it. The potato salad was lacking in flavor, but OK. My wife’s pulled pork. There wasn’t even enough pork on the sandwich to cover the bun no barbecue sauce and lacking flavor and extremely dry. Hard to eat. She couldn’t even finish it. Go to a bar and ask him what do they recommend and they recommended french fries.

I already have positive feelings about Buddy’s Bar-B-Q because it was so much fun and felt so special to go as a child with my grandparents. I didn’t love having to go to the one connected to a gas station but we made it work. When my children, grandfather and I were running errands in the area we were ecstatic to find a Buddy’s in Clinton and stopped in to eat. The food was very typical for Buddy’s (not complaining) but I don’t remember being offered extra meat for a little more money on the order we usually place at the other Buddy’s. I assume the person taking the orders was learning and I don’t hold that against them. It will come in time. What really stood out to us was the atmosphere. It was outstandingly beautiful! The bathrooms were quite clean and it was nice to see an employee wiping tables down and making an effort to maintain the cleanliness of the dining area while we ate. I appreciated that the employee wiped things down, gathered used trays and didn’t disturb our meal in the process. I know restaurants have to clean but I despise when a worker aggressively sprays chemicals on a nearby table close enough to our food to land on it! I’m not sure I remember that person spraying anything anyway (brain is too tired to remember) but it’s a pet peeve of mine and I’m glad it didn’t happen mid meal. There were more people inside than I expected but it certainly wasn’t crowded. The whole atmosphere just seemed new and fresh. Hopefully it will stay that way! We love the vibe of this place. It feels so authentic to Buddy’s Bar-B-Q!

Takes FOREVER to get acknowledged. I can honestly care less about how long it takes for the food, but if the order is ready, it is not right to leave it to where I can’t get to it! Especially given the fact that I was doing 2 deliveries at once. I know for a fact that there were multiple people that saw me standing there, and none of them were asking what I was there for. I heard the cashier say the order was ready, and she could’ve asked me what I was there for. I understand busyness, but if an order is ready, which I saw it sitting there for a good long while, it is COMPLETELY dumb to leave it sitting there. Finally I got pissed off and said something to a dude and he acted like he didn’t see me standing there for around 20 minutes. Like I said, I can care less how long it takes to get the order, just at least acknowledge me like everyone else, and if the order is ready, put it to where I can get to it! At least none of the 2 customers were being impatient. I’m not an impatient guy myself, but still, when I’ve had enough, I make people realize I’ve had enough. And to the manager, don’t reply back saying you’re gonna do something about this, then when I come back, nothing has been done about it

The staff here is quite nice and I gave them a 5 star. The food is over cooked and just not made with any love or pride. We ate the coleslaw and fries and the chicken. Hush puppies were dry and tasted like baked oil. Bbq sauce was ok. 10/10 won’t be back. I’m sure for some this is food but for me Mc. Donald’s would have been a better option.

Ordered the pulled chicken dinner with corn and Mac and cheese. Everything was cold or Luke warm so I waited for a new order. The corn and hush puppies were fresh everything else was still cold or Luke warm. Nice staff but that doesn’t make up for cold food. Never coming back here again.

Although I love eating at Buddy’s, I have been informed that a manager there, Jay, had comments made about him liking to hug little girls from behind. There was a big scandal about it internally, until Jay was moved to a different location. I am disappointed that instead of being held accountable, he is being moved to a different location. I believe this was swept under the rug. I was under the impression that this was a Christian company, but this doesn’t seem like Christian values to me.

We were passing through town and brought our family here for dinner. I don’t typically leave reviews but for other families I think it might be helpful…most of the staff was very friendly and it was a very clean environment which is always appreciated. However, the person who took our order got it wrong and four of us didn’t have meals. When I ordered my brisket without a bun but a large size and got my plate I was shocked at how little meat was on my plate. When we went up to wait for our other four meals he asked what we were waiting for and that’s when he realized he never put those meals on our order. I also asked if mine was indeed a large and he said yes it’s 2.5 oz of meat….for $13. A very small smattering of fries. Then half our children’s kids meals came with a cookie and the other for meals we had to re order didn’t come with one although it is advertised they just forgot. So my husband waited several minutes in line to get the other cookies. Oh and both his and my brisket meals and fried were cold when we got them and one employee up at the front counter was nicely told by another employee to take orders from the growing line of customers and he threw a fit in front of all the customers saying he was too busy. Very unprofessional. All in all, we did not get our money’s worth from this dining experience.
