I never would have thought I’d find delicious soul food barbecue on the boardwalk, but Buddy Love’s BBQ nailed it. I had the brisket combo platter and my husband had the ½ rack rib combo platter. Each came with two sides, so we got try to several sides.
The portion size was fantastic! We were both full after devouring our meals. The brisket was tender and flavorful and the branded bun was a great personal touch. The ribs practically fell off the bone and the sauce was sweet and spicy.
The sides were delicious too. The macaroni and cheese was full of cheese and well seasoned. The baked beans were thick and had just the right amount of smoke flavor. We received a full piece of corn on the cob as a side and it was buttery and Cajun seasoned.
The service was fast and friendly and I could tell the owners wanted customers to be welcomed and well fed. I would DEFINITELY come back here to eat. I hope more people visit this place. It’s one of the best on the boardwalk!

Wow! The ribs were amazing – super tender and the sauce is delicious.. the baked beans were incredible as well. We also got the Mac and cheese, it was really good. Definitely some of the best ribs I’ve had in a long time. Please try this place if you want great barbecue.

Good barbecue , you’d better try this place. Fall off the bone baby back ribs. Mac and cheese which is phenomenal. And the corn bread are all recommended. I’m going back to try the brisket. The atmosphere is fine cute little place off of ninth street. The people were extremely friendly and nice. But the food was uneffin believable.

I really hate to do this, BUT I have to. Last year, we visited the location on the boardwalk and had such a GREAT meal! Their ribs, potato salad, mac and cheese, and BBQ baked beans were phenomenal! We looked forward to their food again this year on our family vacation. Tonight, we ordered 2 racks of ribs with sides (equaling 4 sides). Turns out they do not sell these items on the boardwalk anymore. Nbd. We walked to the restaurant to order (not far). My family of 5 was SO excited to eat their food again. All 5 of us were SO disappointed! The side dishes were half the size of last years. They didn’t have the potato salad tonight. The bbq baked beans were literally mush..the Mac and cheese was so dried out. The coleslaw was about 5 bites before the container was empty (an even smaller container than the other sides). The fries we received were about a handful. The ribs, I feel like were reheated (dried out), and they just added bbq sauce to them. The sauce definitely was not the same. We went there at about 5:30pm. We were so disappointed this year. We will never go back. Not sure why everything was SO different, but it definitely wasn’t worth the $106 we paid. We gave our 2nd rack of ribs to a stranger staying in our building because we didn’t want to throw that much money away.

LOVED! I had the pulled chicken sandwich and my partner got the brisket sandwich. They ate the brisket sandwich too fast for me to take a photo, very tender and juicy! The pulled chicken hit the spot!! Def coming back next time I’m here

These guys are amazing, I’ve always seen them show up to work wearing a spreadable smile. Good vibes all around and an amazing atmosphere. They have items not commonly found anywhere else like their thirst buster or homemade sandwiches. Absolute killer definitely my favorite place on this boardwalk.

Best bbq around! 10/10 Finished combo in 3 minutes flat. Got the brisket sandwich combo with mac and cheese and potato salad. Brisket was tender and moist. Bread toasted perfectly, and pickle was a nice compliment. Mac and cheese noodles were great consistency, and super cheesy! THE POTATO SALAD! So dang good, I actually said wow out loud when I took a bite, so much complex beautiful flavor! Everyone Definitely needs to try this place! I will definitely be coming back and telling all my friends!

This was definitely some good bbq food. However, the portion size did not fit the price tag. For $26 I only had 2 rib bones and I could see the bottom of my mac and cheese container prior to even taking any out. I get the shore is expensive. I get meat prices went up but at least fill up my mac and cheese. If you are unbothered by the price then you shouldn’t have any regrets. I just expected more.
