I had an amazing experience at Budare Latin Restaurant! I went on Tuesday for their 2 hot dogs and a drink special, and it did not disappoint. The hot dogs were packed with flavor, fresh, and very filling, and the drink paired perfectly with the meal.
The food was delicious, the portions were great, and the overall vibe was welcoming. You can really taste the quality and care they put into their food. It’s definitely one of those places you’ll want to come back to — especially for their weekly specials.
I highly recommend Budare Latin Restaurant if you’re looking for great food, great value, and authentic Latin flavors. I’ll definitely be back!

10 out of 10. This place was amazing. It all started when the owner saw us being puzzled over the menu. He took the time to show us pictures and describe the dishes. We ordered empanadas and yuca. Before our food came out, he asked us if we liked lentil soup and then brought us out 2 free bowls of soup. It was amazing! All of the food we had was perfect. We wish we lived here so we could eat here more often. We will absolutely be back if we come back in town. Very affordable too, The meal for my wife and I was around $30.

Our first time discovering this amazing place. Its officially my new fave. My 3&6 yr old ate it all. It felt like i was back home in New York because food like this is a rarity out in Tennessee. Extremely satisfied. I didn’t know what drink to get so he let us try every drink!!! Everything i ordered was amazing . 10 stars!

Budare is the best! My husband and I went to dine in at Budare and we loved it. We drove from Black Mountain NC to try their really delish food and we greatly enjoyed the atmosphere of this gem of a place, the owner has also pretty nice taste with the ambiance music. Orlando was so nice, real and personable, we were greeted with good energy and kindness, he asked us if we are familiar with this food and if it was our first time at their restaurant . I am originally from Venezuela so this cuisine is not new for me but we advised it was our first time there, so they hand you their menu (but you can order for pick up as well and I am sure you can DoorDash and have it delivery(?)), we dined in so they have booths that are very comfy, with a nice and soft light fixture, the menu is great! They have such a good variety of our most know traditional dishes of different areas and states in the country, we started up with the sampler which in our case since we do not eat pork our plate had beef empanadas (you can choose your filling) fried cheese, fried plantain, half of a cachapa with queso de Mano, and tequenos with the typical sauce to sip, this dish was so good, their food tastes very clean, not greasy, then we ordered a shredded beef patacon that was to die for! So yummy, and we also ordered a Cabimera arepa and was super yummy as well, their portions are so generous that we had a Togo plate and that is always a plus!!! To drink we had 2 homemade juices (passion fruit and a papelon con limon and they were really freshly made) my husband ordered a frescolita and we enjoyed the taste of it too! we also ordered two desserts to go “a flan” and a “tres leches” and the day after we tried the flan and ohhh my goodness it was the most decadent flan I have tasted in a while..so soft and I cannot explain it but this food tastes very clean…We also ordered a few empanadas to do and the empanadas are very tasty, they can be perfectly re heated in the air fryer and they taste like you just made them home! The size of the empanadas are generous! I ate one and was satisfied these are not any mini empanadas they are the real deal! This place brought me back to my country, it brought many memories with every bite of the food we ordered! I left Budare filled in my tummy and in my soul as well, being able to speak with someone from my country for a long while was really refreshing and felt very real & that was great my husband and I were so happy we found this place, and the drive was totally worth it. It is our wish that the owner one day decides to open another location in. Lack Mountain NC or Asheville as we need a good Venezuelan restaurant in our area. We will recommend Budare to our friends and we congratulate Orlando and his work team for running this amazing restaurant and for providing us the day we visited with such kind, respectful and excellent service at Budare. We are sold and will be back We wish the best and much success to Budare…Johnson city is blessed to have such an authentic and good Venezuela cuisine restaurant in your area, I wish they were in WNC (I missed taking any pictures while eating as we really were enjoying our time there) I did took a picture of the empanadas we ordered to go and the tees leches that we will enjoy sometimes during the weekend) PS: try the tequenos with guava and cheese they are sooooo sooo so good you can’t miss them

What a little hidden gem: Budare Latin Cuisine. Let me tell you, this place is the real deal.

We walked in to the warm, familiar aromas of Latin cooking: seasoned meats, fresh dough frying, and that unmistakable scent of a kitchen where someone still cooks with tradition, not timers. We definitely ordered more than two people should, but no regrets.

We kicked things off with cheese tequeños, perfectly crisp on the outside and molten on the inside, dipped in a garlic and cilantro sauce that I could honestly drink by itself. Then came the chicken pastelitos, flaky and savory, followed by shredded beef empanadas that tasted like they’d been slow-cooked with patience and pride.

And because we were fully committed at this point, we added cachapas, one stuffed with cheese with a side of fried pork, the other with pulled chicken. Sweet corn pancakes hugging salty, rich fillings… absolute comfort on a plate.

I paired everything with their fresh orange and carrot drink, bright and refreshing, the perfect balance to all those deep, rich flavors.
The best part? Nannette took one bite and said the food was legit. That carries weight. She’s spent nearly two decades traveling through South America, eating home-cooked meals and traditional dishes made by people who learned from grandparents and great-grandparents. For her to say this place tastes authentic says everything.

Budare Latin Cuisine is one of those rare finds, humble, soulful, and serving food that feels like it comes with a story. If you’re anywhere nearby and craving a little culinary adventure, put this spot on your list.

We’ll definitely be back… and next time, we’re showing up hungry.

First time. Saturday around 2. By recommendation we tried the pabellon criollo, pabellon arepa, and cachapa with cheese and chicken. All was delicious! The pork is full of flavor and tender. The rice and beans were a hit and the plantains. Their horchata was also amazing. We were not disappointed and will be back! The atmosphere is cozy, jazz was playing on the speakers. The man who took our order was super helpful! Probably our new favorite spot.

Absolutely awesome arepas! Plenty of other options as well that are equally tasty. Really cute and cozy dining area. You can tell the food is home made for sure! Easily the best place in the area. A must stop even if you are passing through.

Will be making it a repeat.

I tried this Venezuelan restaurant for the first time and I was truly impressed with the food. Everything we ordered tasted delicious and it’s excellent for cheese lovers but don’t think for those watching their calorie intake as many things are fried. We ordered a cachapa with no meat, just cheese and cream, a pabellón arepa, two empanadas one with shredded chicken and one with plain cheese. Also had a mango flavor water which was also tasty but a little pricey. Overall, the food was delicious and I really recommend this restaurant as the service is also excellent.

My wife and I have been here twice now and we loved it both times. The owners are super nice and always helpful in explaining what each dish is if you are not familiar. A really great Venezuelan experience! As you can tell from the picture, it was all gone!

Wanted to try something new, and boy did this place deliver! We got the sample platter, one mango and one passion fruit juices, and their regular and coconut Tres Leches. The sample platter was the move. Will definitely be swinging by to try everything we didn’t get to on the first run!
