If you’re anywhere near Everett or driving through downtown, Buck’s American Cafe is absolutely worth stopping for. It’s one of those places locals know about. It’s also right next to the trestle and super easy to access if you’re headed to Lake Stevens.

The building itself has character (it’s in a historic space that used to be a bank and even rumored speakeasy), which gives the whole restaurant a warm, cozy feel that’s hard to find anymore.

The food is consistently excellent. The steak butcher burger and fish tacos are standouts, and the chef specials are exactly the kind of comfort food you want after a long day. Everything tastes fresh and homemade, not like chain restaurant food. I also really like that they make their own desserts and sauces.

Service is friendly and relaxed, which makes it a great spot whether you’re meeting friends, grabbing dinner before an event in Everett, or just looking for a comfortable neighborhood restaurant.

If you live in Everett, Marysville or anywhere in Snohomish County, this is the kind of local restaurant that deserves your business. Try it once and it’ll probably become a regular spot.

My family favorites:

Artichoke dip
Fish tacos
Butcher Burger
Crispy Chicken Burger
Peanut Butter Pie

They do have steaks and seafood. We found this to be a good spot for espresso martinis as well.

Lastly, we found their banquet room a comfy and convenient spot for large parties.

Excellent choice for a date night. Both the food and the service were fantastic. The brussel sprouts were awesome. The chimichurri steak appetizer was a good size portion and I had it for a meal. The peanut butter pie was uber good too. Recommended.

Seriously phenomenal burgers and fries and the drink was out of this world. I had the bucks burger with everything on it and a Smokey Harvest Apple cider Margarita. Wow!!! I need to go back, this place is a 10/10

I had a fantastic experience at Bucks American Café in Everett. Everything from the food to the atmosphere was spot on.
The rockfish fish tacos were perfectly seasoned, fresh, and full of flavor. The mac and cheese bites were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside—total comfort food done right. To top it off, the cheesecake was rich, smooth, and a perfect sweet finish to the meal.
Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the relaxed vibe made it a great place to unwind and enjoy good food.
I’ll definitely be back—highly recommend this spot!

Came back next day for the King Salmon special.

Hands down the best food I had is some time. They have a menu for your doggo. (There are rules around having pet seated in outside seating.) I got the impression this is a busy place. Music on Saturdays i believe. The day and time I was there is was oddly quiet but I like quiet. The staff knows whats in there food or they will go find out.

The S&P Citrus Calamari was delicious and its gluten and dairy free. Possibly the best calamari I’ve had. Alaskan Halibut & Chips are perfectly cooked. Its a nice light breading and not greasy. The fries were good. The steak for my dog looks and smelled amazing. My husband reported his streak was perfectly cooked as ordered and clearly a high quality meat. I definitely recommend.

Went in and were greeted b a very friendly wait person. Told we could sit anywhere we liked, and had coffee and water immediately.
The menu was great, but our waitress showed me the special – grilled chicken with beet and horseradish sandwich, which made my choice easy!
My wife is vegetarian, and not seeing a list of vegetarian menu items, asked what was available. Wow! Our server gave a list of things that were, or could easily be, vegetarian. My wife ordered a BLT with avocado instead of bacon.
Not too long and our order appeared.
Very happy with our choices! Large sandwiches, very favorable, and obviously not made from “store bought” stuff. My chicken was an actual chicken breast cut in half, and my wife’s ALT had an avocado that looked freshly cut for the purpose.
Prices were very reasonable, the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. We were there at noon on a Wednesday, so it was lunch hour. No delays.
While waiting for our food, I looked up information about.the building, since it appears to be a very old brick building – yep! It is one of the original brick structures in Everett, with quite a history!
Great experience, and we will return soon!

We came here tonight for my child’s birthday and it was a 10/10 experience! The food was outstanding—the Brussels sprouts are a must-try. Even the kids’ menu portions were generous enough to satisfy an adult! My kids loved the mac and cheese; I’m not sure what blend of cheeses they use, but it was incredibly tasty.

I had the seafood salad, which was fresh, loaded with a variety of seafood, and came with a delicious dressing. We also enjoyed the fish and chips and finished with the chocolate lava cake for dessert. Everything was perfect.

The vibe was amazing, and Bob did a great job with the live music as usual. A huge shoutout to our server, Dakota (we saw her name on the receipt). She was so friendly and amazing with the kids while taking their orders. As soon as we got home, the kids asked if we could go back again tomorrow lol ! We will definitely be back.

Our group of Hospice workers/ retirees has made Buck’s our holiday/ post holiday party place for 2 years in a row now.
Amber made sure the back room was well set up, just as requested.
She then provided attentive service over a 3+ hour period.
We are a chaotic group.
Spent the first hour and a half socializing, moving around, ordering drinks.
Amber was there when we decided it was time to order.
She took care to share details about the chicken tacos I ordered ( they’re not served hot).
They were DELICIOUS.
Based on how little was left on the other 19 plates, I’m guessing others were very satisfied.
I was feeling so festive, I had TWO pints, and was not ready to drive right away.
Amber and her other very friendly staff made sure the coffee was fresh and ice water filled as I sat at the bar, very much enjoying the live music:
A gentleman named Charlie T., who sings and plays guitar very well. Charlie played many favorites from our youth.
The overall vibe at Buck’s is warm and very welcoming.
Highly recommend!!!

AMAZING!! Mora was an excellent waitress, it was our 11th wedding anniversary and she definitely helped make it feel extra special all well working a busy section. The hosts were all prompt and welcoming. We ordered the app special fried potato wedges with bacon jam….So Delicious and creative cooking also. My husband had chicken parm and said it was the best he’s had. My Top sirloin was prepared exactly as ordered and paired perfectly with a red wine recommended from Mora! Way to go Buck’s, Thanks for making our special night perfect!

The food has gone to seed here. I ordered the garlic butter halibut and the fish tacos. Both were substandard at best. The halibut was not fresh and small portion and fishy tasted like a microwave dinner. The garlic mashed potatoes tasted like they had been sitting in a hot tray for 10 hours and the fis tacos were dry and tiny amounts of fish. As a halibut entree at $38 its definitely over priced for what we received. This place used to be really good and has some fantastic peanut butter pie. But they need to get a new chef, or hire the old one back… The service has always been great here and still is but even the best service can’t make up for overpriced substandard food… sorry guys, I will not be returning since this is the second time I have been disappointed with the food here.
