I was on my way to visit the USS Kitty Hawk, but the Port of Brownsville wouldn’t allow me entry.
On my way out of town, I stumbled upon this seafood shop. I poked in to see if they served hot meals and I was in luck, they did.
There’s no menu so just ask what’s the catch of the day.
I ordered the caviche and the seafood platter. It was all AMAZING.
They let me sample the seafood soup, shrimp salad and shrimp and cactus. On the table is a house-made hot sauce made from ancho chillis, sesame, and peanuts. It offers quite a kick, but savor the flavor.
I asked the server about the restaurant and he told me that it’s family owned and operated. All the seafood is sourced locally in the port of Brownsville.
Stop by if you’re in the area. You definitely won’t regret it.

Awesome restaurant only 15min from the island! Definitely worth the drive out for authentic fresh caught fish and shrimp. They have about anything you want for very reasonable prices.
