I met the owner at Home Depot months ago very nice lady. I finally made it in and food was amazing and customer service made me feel like I was a regular in there. The atmosphere was very cool and clean. I recommend everyone should visit Browns. I had a $5.99 special just to try them out. I will be back to try other items on the menu.

For the past three weeks, I’ve been searching for some good Southern soul food. Most of the restaurants I’ve visited have been pretty disappointing. Although this one had one of the lowest ratings on Google, I decided to give it a try and surprisingly, the food was pretty decent. It wasn’t quite Southern soul food, but it had potential.
The Pros:
The turkey wing was really good tender and flavorful. The mac and cheese was creamy, though it could use a bit more seasoning, especially black pepper. The greens were also tasty, and the yams were good too.
The Cons:
While the chicken was flavorful, I prefer chicken with the bone in, so I wish their chicken breast option wasn’t boneless. The dressing, even with the gravy, was very dry. I also wish they offered cranberry sauce it might have helped because the dressing had a strong sage flavor.
I’ll probably visit again, but I do hope they improve the wait time. I waited over 30 minutes, which seemed long for what I ordered. Additionally, the restaurant could be a bit cleaner; the clutter made it feel less inviting. The young lady with the red hair could have been friendlier as well.
I did enjoy the selection of gospel music they played it added a nice touch but the volume was so loud that it was difficult for the cashier to hear my order, even though I tend to speak loudly. She even mentioned that she couldn’t hear me, and I completely understood why.
Overall:
I’d rate this restaurant a 3.5 out of 5. It has real potential if they make a few improvements in service speed, cleanliness, and food consistency.

My mother and I went for the first time tonight, and the service was AMAZING ! The sweet tea and the peach lemonade were perfect. The food was full of flavor and the chicken was sooooo good. It was seasoned down to the bone. The yams and greens were DELICIOUS. I can’t wait to go back to try her turkey wings with rice and greens ! We will definitely be back ! 10/10 for us.

I was really disappointed with the food. I ordered the veggie plate thinking it would be a safe choice—after all, how can you go wrong with vegetables? Unfortunately, I was mistaken. The greens lacked any real flavor, the cabbage was mushy, and the mac and cheese tasted like it came from a box. I didn’t even include the potato salad in the photo because I threw it away immediately—the potatoes were undercooked, and it was far too sweet.

This place is HORRIBLE!!!!! When they first opened the food was great, then about 6 months later worst food ever. I decided to give them another chance today….bad mistake look at the grease from the wings even though i asked for them not be to fried hard they were under cooked and blood was on the greasy napkins.The yam definitely was not fresh( tasted as if the came from the can). Not only did they add sales tax( which is normal) they add 3% service fee? NOT EVER GOING BACK AGAIN

Waited over 30 minutes for my food and everything was terrible! I ordered Mac and cheese, cabbage and fried chicken wings. The cabbage was extremely mushy and the Mac and cheese taste like it was made from the box. My chicken wings were super greasy and were not cooked at all! I took a bite and could taste blood coming out of the chicken!

My family and I came here for a meal and we really enjoyed it. If you’re looking for southern soul food this is your place! From the fried chicken, to the smothered pork chops, to the yams!!! Everything was delicious! The servings were large and the service was great! The restaurant itself was a little dated but all in all I will definitely frequent this restaurant!

The food was amazing! I really couldn’t find anything bad to say, not that I wanted to. I had the pork chop, yams, greens and mac and cheese. One of the best Mac and cheese and yam dishes that I ever had outside of home. The smothered pork chop was so tendered and juicy. The yams were sweet but not too sweet. They had a very good taste to them. I also tried my grandbaby’s chicken and it was very good. Would definitely recommend!!

I’m only writing this review because of the terrible customer service I had , i am always wanting to support black owned business but I probably won’t spend any money with this establishment and wouldn’t recommend to anyone , although when I first came in the young lady to the left had such a welcoming spirit to her the lady who took my order was very unpleasant I have received better customer service from people that worked at mccdonalds. I can’t speak for the rest of the staff but definitely the lady in front with the low cut terrible attitude. I asked her simple questions about the business and menu and she replied with so much sarcasm remind you this is my first time coming in I was trying to get a feel of the restaurant but she made it very uncomfortable and didn’t except to be handled the way she was handling me also was very embarrassing because she acted like that in front of my wife. I will say the food is actually good I give credit when it’s owed but seriously good service should be simple. I am a god fearing Christian man I’ve recently joined the twitch community my streams/videos are about my restaurant journeys and will definitely be sharing my complete experience and thoughts with my audience about todays visit with a honest review about the food.
