This is a really good branch of the Brown Bag chain. We especially appreciated Ralph’s outstanding service – not only did he bring the order to our table, he also explained what he was serving. An extra star for being so friendly and courteous!
The food (grilled salmon bowls and crispy panko-breaded shrimps) was fresh, plentiful and delicious. For some reason it tasted even better than at the two other Chicago branches we know (Gold Coast and Willis Tower).
Our only grievance was that some of the tables and the surrounding floor were very sticky. However, the great food and service made up for this. We will come back.

Good for quick healthy seafood focused lunch. Went there for an early lunch, and it was pretty empty. You can customise your own bowl, which is helpful. I got the shrimp bowl with a mix of rice and vegetables, but they got my order wrong and just give me the shrimp over salad. I did not really complain though, because I was okay with just having salad. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and very flavourful. The sauce complimented it really well. They have a lot of space to sit inside or a large number of seating outside as well which is pretty nice. Overall, a really good option to grab a quick lunch in the area.

I love this location food is top tier and the vibe is always right. Monday was my first time trying Brown Bag.. Shout out to Ralph I think he’s the manager he was very friendly with explaining the menu and he also came to check on my table to ensure everything was good. He recommended the salmon veggie bowl & it was sooo good! Food was fresh & tasty. His customer service is excellent! He even brought me extra Swedish fish after I said those are my favorite ❤️. First time in Chicago and came here for lunch. The staff were amazing and patient with us. They suggested some items from the menu and the food did not disappoint! It was so fresh and delicious. Ari was a sweetheart with a wonderful smile and personality. The staff working with her were friendly and had great attitudes. Thank you for a great experience.

The fish and chips were good. They were very fresh and super crispy when they came out. The batter of the fish was kind of bland, and there wasn’t much seasoning on the fries. That’s fine, because I usually douse mine with vinegar anyways.
When I arrived, even though there was only one family there, I waited 30 minutes or so for service. The ladies working in the kitchen were very busy, but it is a small kitchen and they were very sparsely staffed. Considering I visited around 6, I might have been a bit early for the dinner rush? Still, it seemed like a long wait.
They do have decent selection on tap for a restaurant like this (5ish beers) so that was a nice surprise.

I’ve been to Brown bag seafood a few times but the location on wells by far is my favorite! The location is clean, tidy, organized, stocked, bright and spacious. Upon entry, the staff always greets me with a warm “Hi, welcome in” and a smile! Donesha, runs a fun, tight ship, and you can tell because although the employees enjoy each others company, they make sure my order is always accurate. I love when food is prepared with joy! I definitely recommend the veggie bowl with salmon and shrimp, and a side of their green herb sauce. My seafood tastes like quality and is always cooked perfectly, none of that dry or rubbery hard stuff! Next time you’re in the mood for some fresh, filling, healthy seafood option, with warm staff, check them out! Tell them Ashley sent you!

Came in on a Wed at 5pm, looked closed but was pleasantly surprised they were open! Menu ordering system seems way too confusing of using dry erase signs and light orange background made it difficult for me to read. Staff was pleasant as I was only one there. Ordered fish and chips and found a seat. Fish and fries were made to order and large 3 pieces with fries were very hot and tastey. Tartar sauce was decent. I would recommend.
