The quality of the food has changed and inconsistent.

We discovered the place this past Summer. Food and portion was great. Rice & beans would overflow in the takeout box. The meat was always good. We ordered the same thing tonight; 3 taco combo. Somehow the rice & beans portion was about half than what it used to be. The meat had some tough parts that you couldn’t chew.

Maybe it was an off night. A little sad that it’s changed.

Brought my nephew here for a little snack before a school event. I got a torta with al pastor and it was one of the best tortas I had. I wish the bread was a little firmer/maybe toasted but it also has guac and beans and hot cheese so it getting soft makes sense.
Horchata was good and my nephew enjoyed the fires. Sauces were good too! We were the only customers at the time and the employee turned on the tv to a kids cartoon which was really nice of him 🙂

I was looking forward to try this restaurant from the reviews. However, I was very disappointed in the quality of the food. I ordered an appetizer (queso and chips) by the way is yellow and not white cheese. Both entrees I ordered were cold, and all the meat was burnt as you see in the pictures. The food in the pictures is what I left; it was not edible at all.

This place needs to do better in every category.

Just what we needed in Brooklyn Center! Finally-good Mexican food. It’s not just good, it’s fantastic!!! I’m so picky and I am not a fan of American Mexican. This is legit, delicious Mexican food! We had Chicken chimichanga, Birria (consome) tacos, French fries, Chips and guacamole. All of the food is amazing!! Great portion sizes too! Run, run out and eat this food!!

What a lovely surprise! I didn’t know this new taqueria had opened up, but it’s not only open — it’s great! We got the Mar y Tierra (highly recommend!) and a carnitas burrito (also very good). The beans were spectacular — no mushy beans here. Presentation was appropriate given the price point for each dish. La música estaba un poco ruidosa, pero divertida tambien.

Thanks for a great meal! We’ll be back again soon!

So I ordered food from this place last night via doordash, not expecting anything spectacular ( especially since it was almost 1:00 a.m.) but boyyyyy was i wrong. From the very first bite of food, I was in literal heaven. I got carne asada tacos which were super flavorful and cooked to perfection. I also got a quesadilla with shredded beef which came with rice and beans. I mean it when I say the rice was the most flavorful Mexican rice I’ve ever had and in the best way. The quesadilla with a shredded beef was a game changer for me, because typically at Mexican restaurants I usually only get the cheese quesadilla. The shredded beef was flavorful, tender, and paired perfectly with the cheese. Beans were also chef’s kiss. Needless to say, this is my new Mexican joint and I am talking myself out of ordering it again tonight I am sad I didnt take photos but I basically inhaled the food. Next time!

Most importantly, the food was very good. I had the chimichanga w/ carnitas and it was fantastic. The eating area is lacking in atmosphere. Not great for a date, but perfect to get it to go.

There’s finally an authentic Mexican restaurant in Brooklyn Center. There are two doors on the left for entry and two doors on the right to exit. The customer service here is extremely pleasant. My husband ordered the shredded pork burrito that came with in-house made tortilla chips. No salsa for the chips, but they do give you a small container of red and green sauce for your burrito. I ordered the shredded pork torta that came with a roasted jalapeño, a small amount of fries, and the same two sauces. The burrito and torta were great to my husband. They actually got him full. I don’t like a lot of fatty pieces in/on my meat, so while it was tasty, I think I’ll stick with the chicken or steak. While the fries have a great seasoning on them, they do need to be cooked a little longer so they’re not so soft by the time you get home. We also ordered their horchatas, which was served without ice, and it was very sweet but still ok. The red sauce is just spicy with no flavor. I actually had to mix the two sauces to taste them, so that’s what I suggest you do too if you really want to taste the sauce. A worker (maybe the owner) stated they’re having their grand opening this Friday (8-25-2023) at 11:30 A.M.. He stated they mayor should be there too.

Not going back. New cashier lady is rude and bitter over every little inconvenience to her. Came a couple times before her because the food was good to me but If she cant handle being friendly she should be pushed to the back.
