So, I finally decided to stop in after driving by so many times and to be honest I was disappointed. I ordered the Beef Suya with fried plantains and rice.
First let me mention that although there are tablesnin the establishment, it is more of a carryout than a sit in dining experience. Order at the counter and wait for your food to be brought out to you.
Ok, when I got home the containers did not feel hot as I was taking them out of the bag. Which surprised me because I only live less than10min away. When I opened the container I was so disappointed first to see there was no rice but also to see the onions were raw and were not grilled with the beef. The plantains were just warm. I had to heat everything up in the microwave, so disappointing.
All I will say is, if Bros J Suya plans to stay in business in New Carrollton they better get their stuff together because Sardi’s will be opening soon right accross the parking lot from them. So, good luck to them on that.
Will I return: NO
I feel cheated after not getting mt rice and not to mention the disappointment in the quality of the food.
I will say the food was flavored well but the experience was severely disappointing.
If you look at my reviews for other establishments I am very fair and honest. It even hurts me to even give this type of review.
I just hope they elevate from here forward.

This place is not the same quality as the food truck. The food sucked. The suya and the wings were both so overcooked and hard to chew. Wasted my money and would not go back. The jollof was bland and seemed to be microwaved in the plastic container. Only gave 2 stars because the food truck is better in general.

The cashier automatically tacked on a $1.91 tip to my $10 order, and I didn’t catch it until I got home. I don’t have an issue with tipping in general, but it should be my call—not theirs. It feels like she pulled something shady, though I’m not entirely convinced.

Gave a try and bros j Suya Restaurant and it was something else, I have been looking for a place like this this , came all over from Virginia to Maryland just to buy Suya from bros j because I have been hearing about it . The food is an absolute culinary gem! Their Suya is phenomenal – expertly grilled to perfection, bursting with succulent flavor and aroma. And the Jollof rice? Absolutely divine! The symphony of spices is expertly balanced, leaving me utterly enamored. A must-visit destination for food connoisseurs! Don’t miss out – experience the epicurean delight for yourself!Highly recommended

After driving back from work I stopped at Bros j suya to get food for my first time and bro… Bros J is the real deal! Their Suya is insane – tender, juicy, and full of flavor. And don’t even get me started on the Jollof rice, it’s got that perfect blend of spices. the customer service was cool . the wait time was less than I expected , everything was just cool , I’m hooked! If you haven’t tried it yet, what are you waiting for? Get to Bros J and taste the magic for yourself! 10/10 would recommend!”

Ngl the rice and wings weren’t good at all. The rice was mushy and the wings were dry, small and tasted like they were grilled, baked, and then fried. I guess selling old food is why the 10 minute estimated window was accurate. The Tyrone’s (iyk) esque wings were $10, the small jolof was $9.50, a small seasoned rice shouldn’t cost that much when all that’s in it is a seasoning packet (don’t care what you call it). Service, not rude but not that attentive. The lady that was sitting there when I placed my order got up to complain about not getting hers after mine came out first, it didn’t sound like becuase it was a large or complicated order. It’s a strong nah

The place is clean, volume of music is great. The hosts were very welcoming and services were swift. Most important was the taste of the food, everything was just on point. I will definitely be stopping by severally. Go get your own taste of tropical cuisine and you will concur.

Listen, I am a girl, and this was one of the best experiences I’ve had. If you’ve read the other comments, everyone has been taking out and having horrible experiences, while I dined in and had my best meal! I ordered jollof rice. Amazing. Fish. Awfully good.

I have visited this store 2 times and made a small $10 purchase. The second time I ordered suya and fried plantain, I was charged for both but when I got home, there was no plantain. However, I went back and they gave me a small bowl of plantain. I decided to try the small platters and I was highly disappointed. The quantity was shameful. I spent $100 for 2 platters and the quantity didn’t even qualify for a $50 quantity you would get from other vendors. I’m never going back here for sure. Maybe for small orders, but don’t waste your money to make a big purchase, you will be disappointed. The suya itself taste good but quantity, zero.

Not sure what happened between the opening time and today when I went to get my food. This was 3rd time coming here since they opened about 2 months ago. The first two times I came, I was absolutely blown away by the flavor of both the jollof and suya. It was amazing each time. Today, 10/14/25, I come and get my usual order and it is nowhere near the same. The food is is no where near as flavorful as it was. The cuts are fattier and the taste, in one word, terrible. It tasted like someone just threw a steak on a grill without an ounce of seasoning. The jollof so bland, it made me question if I had been getting jollof this entire time. I was excited when this place showed up and was happy to pay my money for amazing food. Now the portion is smaller and the taste is 1 star. I hope this was just a bad day. Not too sure if I would come back. Once you burn me once with bad food, I cant chance it again.
