The store offers gluten free, but does not take the steps to ensure it is truly gluten free like other sandwich places. So if you are gluten free for Celiac you will get gluten poisoning. This is only gluten free for those that are choosing to be, not for those that need to be.

**This was my personal experience as it was the only place I ate that day and became very sick.

We tried this establishment because of a referral. As we walked in, I found it odd that no restrooms existed for the customers. The menu board wasn’t the easiest to understand. I decided to try the whole pork sandwich on dark rye with Russian sauce. I decided to dress it with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion. The bread was tasty. However, it didn’t hold up well to the juicy 8 ounces of pork. I had three different cheeses for an uncharge of 45 cents per extra cheese. I would eat here again if invited by friends. I probably wouldn’t choose it again for myself. The dining area is very congested as well. The flow just didn’t work that well.

Ordered Brooklyn Pickle Special ( pastrami, corned beef, Swiss, Russian dressing ). No swiss on sandwich, Russian dressing was mayo and meat was cold. Not sure how this passes as a good sandwich but it gets a C- from me. Service was attentive on the plus side, also liked the inside of the store and ability to order half sandwich. Please improve the quality of the meats and get your sandwiches made properly according to the menu. Your store has such potential but quality is what wins at end of the day. I wanted to rate you higher but you need to do better first and then I will.

Honestly one of the best, if not the best sandwich place in the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area. The prices may look a little on the pricey side, however what you get for it is well worth it. The whole sandwich is large enough to be 2 sandwiches and the amount of meat and other ingredients they put on the sandwich is worth that cost too. They have really good bread for the sandwiches and high quality meats and toppings as well.

Did a delivery, purchased a turkey/provolone sub. The turkey meat really caught me off guard. It was extremely salty, as salty as the Dirty Chips I purchased with it. But the quality of the meat is definitely at the bottom of the pile. It is cheap, very very processed and I thought they had cook their meats on premises. The turkey meat is like what that oven browned processed turkey is.And I really was looking forward to the bread being a crusty style, similar to a crusty kaiser perhaps like from Brooklyn NY. Nope…. Not even close. It is identical to the hamburger buns, soft soft and with the oil/vinegar on it. It was literally soaked till it couldn’t hold no more. It was ozing off bread in the wax paper it was wrapped in as I was taking it out of paper. Maybe I should of requested just a splash. Sorry, but this was not what I hoped for and was definitely disappointed.

I stopped by Brooklyn Pickle in Southern Pines yesterday because my soul said “roast beef or bust.” I used to come here all the time when they first opened, and let me tell you, some things never change in the best way. Their pickle juice and those Hungarian peppers are still top tier life choices.

I ordered the roast beef sub with lettuce, tomato, and extra onions. No dressing for me because I like to taste the meat and live dangerously with onion breath. Paired it with their Hungarian peppers and the oil they swim in. Before you judge, try it. Chef’s kiss perfection. The peppers were not as spicy as I remember from years past, but that did not stop me from eating the entire tub like it was my life’s mission.

I also grabbed a small and medium chicken soup plus some chips. The broth was flavorful and the veggies and noodles were solid. The chicken texture was not my favorite, but I am a dark meat girly through and through, so take that note with love. Would I get it again? Yes, probably with less chicken and more of that comforting broth.

Now the service. Shina made my sandwich while chatting with me like we were old friends catching up at the deli counter, and everyone else was just as kind. That type of friendly energy is priceless. Ten out of ten on the service vibe.

Overall, Brooklyn Pickle delivered like they always do. If you love deli style sandwiches, bold flavors, and staff who treat you right, go give them a try. I will absolutely be back.

The sandwich is huge. Go for the half unless you want 2 meals or are really, really, hungery. I had the brooklyn special and it was amazing. My wife and daughter had the turkey and they did not like how the turkey was like it was chopped. Definitely worth a trip. The soup was also good. The mac and cheese was decent.

First timer…started off with Turkey Sub. Generous turkey. Sub bread was just okay. Not crusty or crunchy on outside to add texture so was just ‘bready’. Lettuce ordered on sandwich was missing and Kraut ordered (dont judge) was more like creamy slaw. Not bad but interesting…maybe NY thing. Definitely not German kraut. Cheesecake brownie was literally cheesecake and soft creamy fudge. Delicious and super rich.
Ordered to go. Unfortunately, the steering wheel on my car has more “personality” than the dude that handed me my bag. Good help defines a business and good bread defines a sandwich shop. These weren’t great but filled my belly so not an entire loss.

The manager mistreats young kids that she hires to work there. She’s super nice until you disagree with her and then she turns on you and screams insults in front of other customers. She refuses to let her employees report mistreatment because most of her other employees are her family. Aside from that I’m a huge fan of the veg beef soup and Neptune stew. But the bread for the sandwiches is hard and old tasting. The soup is not worth supporting a restaurant who allows a rude disrespectful unprofessional tyrant to run that store.
