Originally opened in 2013, Brookland Eats proudly serves the locals of Person County, North Carolina and the surrounding counties. Choosing fresh ingredients from many local farms, we offer a variety of fresh, southern-style handmade dishes. Our interior boasts the rustic sensibilities of Roxboro while also paying tribute to Person County’s distinguished history. We are owned and operated by Chef David Gaydeski, who served for nearly a decade as Executive Chef to three governors at the North Carolina Executive mansion in Raleigh. His kitchen at the mansion was a dynamic working classroom where he taught inexperienced staff marketable culinary skills.

Looooooove this restaurant so much. Food is always amazing. This evening I picked up take out for the 1st time ever for Husbands birthday. Was expecting a less than amazing meal, rightly so because we were being antisocial and wanted to eat at home. I was soooooo wrong !!! Absolutely delicious !!! From the salads to the sides, everything was amazing. And BONUS !!! They brought back the Blackened Tuna/pickled veg/risotto dish !!!! That needs to be one the menu permanently, PLEASE. Thank you for being the shining jewel of Roxboro cuisine.

Definitely, make a reservation for this popular restaurant. Whether you wish a quick cheeseburger or a full out meal. I highly recommend Brooklyn Eats. They have a small but well stocked bar. The menu will change slightly due to seasonal availability of certain cuisines. I am personal fan of the seared tuna. Their cheeseburger is probably the best in the area. The staff is friendly and full of southern charm. The kitchen has a pass through window, that allows the fragrances of the meals being prepared into the dining area. There is a small patio a for dining outside. The dining atmosphere is classy without being stuffy. This restaurant easily sits a top of my list of places to dine. Do yourself a favor and give them a try.

This restaurant had a very tasty menu when we were in. I think they rotate it seasonally. It was also the best to eat inside, not a takeout when sides could get all soggy. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and amount of food. Service staff was fun amlnd polite. Definitely worth checking out. Also, if there is no parking, I believe they have a deal with a business across the street for any overflow. Cheers!

An outstanding dining choice in Roxboro. I had a wonderful steak sandwich cooked to perfection. This is elevated dining in a homey yet classy atmosphere at a surprisingly great price.

Went here last night for dinner with a friend. I had the Mahi, he had the salmon. Both enjoyed our meals and the service was spot on. Had the creamed spinach and risotto. Both excellent. All the food was piping hot and well cooked.

Saw a few less than exemplary reviews recently so I wanted to give them a 2thumbs up. They did well for us.

I had to travel to Roxboro for work and needed to grab dinner. I found that the city doesn’t not have a lot of options. This place was the only resturant only 8pm.

You could tell this was the “nice” place to eat in the area. It was not fancy, but you saw birthday and business dinner parties going on. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting and the staff was super friendly.

Now, I know people have their option of the best chicken sandwich. If ypu are anywhere near here, please compare your pick against this sandwich. First, look at the size of that chicken. It was literally hanging off the bun. Second, it was cooked perfectly. Third, the sweet potatoes fries were the perfect side. This place was a hit!

Was disappointed in this restaurant. Menu online was different then one we got at the restaurant.

My chicken lo mein was cold but had loads of flavor. Her beef stroganoff had no taste as well as cold.

After hearing good things about Brookland Eats, I decided to give it a try.
My first go round I ordered the Brookland Burger as medium-rare. What arrived was a burger that was about a medium to medium-well outer 1/2, with the middle being somewhere around rare to raw-rare. The inner consistency was similar to steak tartare. It was seasoned good and my fries were great.
My second go round was the Fish & Chips. This is the first time I have ever ordered fish and chips that came with potato chips. I was surprised and disappointed to say the least. The fish was cooked perfectly, nice and crispy. It is a bit bland and unseasoned, but goes good with the tartar sauce.
The hushpuppies are great, the pimento spread is great with it, though I disliked how the spread was served on a bed of lettuce. I had to scrape the spread off of the lettuce as I did not want to eat the lettuce.

The service is great. Very fast to take the order, get drinks, and get the food out. Very friendly staff.

The atmosphere is really hit or miss. The first visit was quiet and good for a date night, the second visit was very loud and rowdy like a bar.

Overall, I will likely visit here again, though will pay attention to how full the parking lot is in hopes of a quiet atmosphere.

What a great find in Roxboro. We were on the way back from the casino in Danville and stopped by for a nice lunch. Did a quick search and this place came up. Never been so we figured we give them a try. They have been open since 2013 and am embarrassed we never been. Wow did we mis out. I ordered the steak and my wife the chicken sandwich along with catfish bites. All were fantastic. And the service was super. The server was professional and quick with the food as it came out. We will definitely be back.

This is a gem of a restaurant, well worth the drive from Raleigh. Very high quality, seasonal, approachable food, relaxed setting in a historic building. Excellent bar/bourbon and beverage selections. Chef Gaydeski is very talented, and it shows – great food that is not fussy; every detail on the plate is thoughtfully done, without being showy.
