The owners and staff are super-nice! We’ve been attending a networking meeting there in the mornings before they open. Several times, we’ve stayed for lunch and it was delicious. Tried the tacos, chicken sandwich, burger, and a few more. Fresh and tasty.

Where to start? OK, we walked in.and were seated by someone that we haven’t seen smiling during our visit at all. The table was badly balanced and we asked for a something to put under the leg, but we were moved to another table instead. That’s fine, but then she made our ‘old’ table ready for new guests without fixing the balance. We ordered two different but common cocktails with someone else that did not have bar/restaurant experience, but a bit later were told that they were out of the right ingredients (this early Fri evening). Here’s the only good thing: a lady from the bar came over to apologise. We ordered an appetizer and soon figured out that it was not available anymore. Another try. Next to the cheese dip with homemade (hmm?) chips, we ordered the Black and Blue salad, and were asked if we wanted blue cheese with it. Well, why would we order this without it? The lettuce wasn’t fresh and the steak very cold. The one-man band was … nevermind, and the manager that we planned on sharing our experience with during the night only had attention for setting-up his big screen, instead of interacting with his guests. While walking out we were surprised, or not, that none of the staff said a word, or smiled. I’ve seen many places, rarely give a bad review, but tonight, we were clearly at the wrong place at the wrong time.

The servers were very nice and informative. As soon as we sat down we were told the daily specials and given the drink menus. There is a wide variety of alcoholic beverages to choose from, if that’s what you’re looking to have with your meal. The taco burger was good. It had Pico de Gallo, sour cream and tortilla chips on it. Personally, I think it would have been so much better with some taco seasoning in the meat and maybe some guacamole, cheese and salsa on it. The fries were well done and crispy. We had a very nice lunch.

My original review is below. Today we returned for lunch at the Brook Highland Bar & Grill. The place was packed! After waiting a few minutes we were greeted by the same unenthusiastic server we had on our first visit. She said that there were only 2 waitresses working the whole restaurant. They hadn’t had a break and that it would be bad if we stayed. So we left. I was excited about eating there again, but now I doubt we will the go back. The food may be great, but if the service is bad, it’s not worth it.
Our food was great but our server was mediocre at best. She looked like her dog had died. We had a group of 7 and everyone really enjoyed their food. We will definitely go back, but hopefully will get a different server.

My husband and I have been eating at Brook Highland Bar & Grill every weekend since The Boot was in its place. We’ve enjoyed doing so with our young son. Went tonight for dinner at 6:30 and were turned away because it is now 21 and up after 5:00. Terribly sad because we loved the food and the staff and often brought our families and friends, but we will never be back! I guess it’s now truly a bar rather than a restaurant.

I have been here during the week for lunch and it is spectacular. Catfish strips are amazing. Yams are to die for! The place is so cute and cozy. I could imagine just going to relax and read for study. They have little couches in the back and even outdoor seating… I can’t say enough. Love it.

Great food. I went on a Sunday at 12:45. What i didn’t know is that they don’t serve lunch on Sunday until 2pm. Their only option this “early” was brunch. The only brunch option was breakfast tacos. They were awesome. Three 6inch flour tortillas with Canadian bacon egg and cheese.

I’ve eaten here before and had a pleasant experience. Today, however, ordered my burger well (extra sensitive stomach) to go and it took forever, was told it’s because it’s “well”. Got my food, paid and left. Got to my office to find out that my burger was very much rare and all I had to eat for lunch was fries…not sure if i’ll return.
