On a Saturday afternoon, my friend and I stopped at the Broadripple brew pub for a bite to eat little did we realize, that a feast of deliciousness was about to descend into our lapse I had the vegan burger with all the fixings and coleslaw, my friend Jeffrey had fish and chips. The fish were succulent and full flavored. The brew chips were a tasty yet decadent surprise my vegan burger was absolutely delicious with a slightly toasted brioche bun. Neither of us could finish our meal. The portions were very large. What a very pleasant Gastro feast we had I would highly recommend the broad Ripple brew pub.

I ended up stopping by Broad Ripple Brewpub to try their beer just as they opened. It was fairly quite at first, although customers were trickling in as I sat at the bar. The place has a warm, pub atmosphere, and the bar was pretty comfortable. I guess they’re one of the oldest brewpubs in the state, and their beer was excellent. I can see why they’ve stood the test of time, although their food sounded good too. I got a hand-pulled cask ale, and it was deliciously smooth. It’s well worth stopping by just to enjoy the cask ale. If I’m ever down in the Indianapolis area again with friends, I’ll be sure to take them here.

Broad Ripple Brewpub is Indy’s original micro brewery, brewing primarily traditional/British styles of beer, normally also offering a couple on cask pours. The server at the bar is friendly and hard working! Food is decent pub fare. In the fish and chips, the battered cod fish is very properly prepared and a nice piece of fish. Unfortunately the fries we got last night were clearly cooked in old fry oil and possibly also overcooked as they came out dark and hard. The angry raviolis are tasty for something different. Always suggest the scotch eggs.

A Broad Ripple icon churning out consistency for decades. You can never go wrong with an ESB and fish and chips, but the real star – outside of their scotch eggs – is their continued commitment to their vegan and vegetarian offerings. It’s tough to find in general in Indy let alone at a brewpub.

We ordered three dishes, and two of them were pretty bland. The chips with the fish and chips were good, but the fish and the chicken schnitzel could have used some salt and pepper (which was not on the table). The pasta with artichoke was good when well mixed. I had the monon porter, and it was fantastic. Overall, the atmosphere was nice, and the service was good. I would probably want to try again with a different food order.

Went here with my wife for a quick lunch before going to our concert at Butler. We were staying at Hotel Broad Ripple and my wife pointed it out as we were looking where to eat before the concert. Despite some reviews, I loved how the owner replied and seemed to be doing his best, I found the pub’s about page to be very cool! Plus we liked that this place was within walking distance and had a casual and community based feel. Despite being dressed up for the evening concert, we didn’t want to go someplace expensive and stuffy and were happy to see the prices on their menu were reasonable too!

We were not disappointed! The server was excellent, the food came out fast food, and it was delicious! We had onion rings to split, my wife had fish and chips, and I had an Oktoberfest dish comprised of mashed potatoes on a bed of red cabbage with sausage slices on top served in a handled bowl. The onion rings were perfect, the batter on her fish was light and crispy and you actually got a decent sized price fish over some flat small fillet! The sausage melted in my mouth and it was just a great experience! We are Cincy, but if we ever stay at HBR again we will be back.

Should note too that I use a wheelchair and it was perfectly accessible as well 🙂

Broadripple Brew Pub is one of our favorite local spots! The food is awesome and the service is consistently friendly. Solid beer selection and a great patio for when the weather gets warmer. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Excellent food, particularly their vegan menu. Great for groups that have varied dietary needs. But sadly the service is so abysmal that its almost not worth it. We waited 20 minutes for drinks and an HOUR for food. Then, to top it off, the guy took our card and didn’t come back for 15 minutes after we told him we were in a hurry and late for our event. Order take out and run!

What a wonderful place to spend the evening. Cool brewpub atmosphere. Super friendly staff. A huge vegetarian selection. And of course I have to mention the great beer selection. High quality food and beer at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be back on our next trip through Indy.

Really bummed out by this visit. Waited 20 minutes to get our drinks, which was excused by our waiter as a lack of clean glasses. Waited even longer after that to get our order taken. Then waited an hour for the food to arrive. In one of the dishes we found a long black hair that was so embedded in the dish, it couldn’t even be pulled out. The waiter did remove it from our tab when brought up, but this should have never been an issue in the first place- hair nets exist for a reason. Not sure if the place is low staffed, but the waiter was very inattentive and the restaurant was not very busy. Overall very disappointed and I used to really enjoy this restaurant. The owner seems to refuse to take any accountability when bad reviews are left, and it comes off as extremely unprofessional. The owner should take these comments as a way to improve, this restaurant is a staple to broadripple and it’s sad to see it get this way
