I’m writing this review as I finish up my warm chocolate chip cookie, and let me tell you.. fantastic. We stopped in after a long hike in the area and got a couple of their best sellers, the chocolate chip cookie and the cinnamon roll. Neither made it very long before we dug in. 10/10. Make a special trip for this gem.
(We’ll be back tomorrow ☺️)

Edit: we did indeed return today and got the tomato and nectarine with basil and ricotta on puff pastry. CRAZY!! Incredible. Thanks for the great eats. We will be back next time we’re in town!

The skill that it takes to bake perfectly moist flavorful and fresh pastries above 10,000 ft is a MIRACLE. This is the only place you can get quality fresh baked bread and pastries within a 50 mile radius of Fairplay.

Honestly, a lot of bakeries in the entire state of CO don’t take into consideration that baking thousands of feet above sea level requires a lot of patience and tweaking. They just sell dry crusty pastries. NOT BRISTLECONE BAKESHOP. They have perfected high altitude baking.

Don’t skip this place if you’re in the area. They sell out quick! The employees are also so friendly. Thank you for your amazing pastries. ❤️

My family and I happened to see this bakery on our way out of Alma into Breckenridge and decided to stop by on a Thursday morning. We were greeted by the smell of fresh baked goods and inviting smiles. The girls running the bakery were so sweet and friendly and the pastries were amazing! The shop itself has a cozy, vintage feel and looks like it is straight out of a movie!
I also tried a vanilla matcha latte which had great flavor and was very smooth. (The shop does offer coffee as well.)
We will definitely return to this bakery next time we are in Alma!

Probably the best bakery you can find in the region. Lovely staff, high quality everything. Definitely go out of your way for a visit. Almond croissant, peach danish, morning bun, and stuffed roasted cauliflower goat cheese sandwich—all beautiful.

The type of pastries that make you roll your eyes to the back of your skull. Truly next level. My favorite is the pistachio croissant, but they might make the best chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever eaten. The cinnamon rolls are also special- flaky and crispy like a croissant, but also gooey and soft in the center. No need for icing.

Delightful bakery, wonderful people! Enjoyed a sandwich, an olive/goat cheese bread, and a loaf of sourdough ❤️ We have one family member with an egg allergy who is often disappointed to not have a pastry option without an egg wash & they have two amazing options – hooray for cinnamon rolls!

Finally tried their country sourdough bread and it is delicious!! And of course had to get an Almond croissant and cinnamon role to take home again! This bakery is worth a visit!

Excellent little bakery in Alma and right off Hwy 9. Almond croissants & cinnamon roles are the tastiest around! Will try their sour dough bread next time I’m in town.

Visited this little bakery across from The Black Kettle Coffee Shop and so glad we did! We got the spinach and feta croissant with a chocolate chip cookie. The croissant was ‍ so crispy, soft in the middle, savory and fresh. Can’t wait to come back to try their fresh baked breads and other pastries! Paired well with our coffee from The Black Kettle Coffee Shop.

I wish I had a bakery like this in my hometown! We get 3-4 different pastries each time because it’s impossible to choose! The danish is my favorite, followed closely by the cinnamon roll. But you can’t go wrong with anything!
