The BBQ was cooked well it just wasn’t hot or warm. My friends arrived after I ate, theirs was the same. I love the pepper. The Turkey was fantastic. I think they could be kinder service wise, because people don’t understand how to order it’s a lil confusing and we know it’s about customer perception. Turnip greens were definitely pretty good-add vinegar? The potato salad was like when you let it soak up water after cooking. It need S&P mustard and maybe dill cause it’s red potatoes. The BBQ sauce is fruity n sweet. I preferred the hot. The Alabama was very mayo–needed more horseradish, apple cider. It’s very good just wasn’t my personal favorite, definitely will be back. I don’t think that the BBQ aspect is presented CLEARLY. The portions are generous.

I usually have a good food experience with you all, but today this is what my beef ribs looked like when I got home and pulled it off the bone. The lady told me she already had some beef ribs packaged and coming off the smoker, so unbeknownst to me they were burnt; they were tough and had absolutely no flavor. If I wasn’t so tired and didn’t have to drive back across town I would have taken this back. This is absolutely disgusting and it’s embarrassing you would serve this to a customer.

To paraphrase the great philosopher Harry Dunne, “Just when I thought Nashville BBQ couldn’t possibly be any worse, Bringles has totally redeemed this town.” It took me 3 years too long to try this place. Excellent flavors, sides, and quality cuts. It’s as close to Texas BBQ as you can get without going there. The cole slaw was a little drier than I like, but I’m just being picky to try and find something to critique. Great job and I will be back. Cool vibes in The Nations as well.

Food & atmosphere was incredible, but the service was TRASH- we have never been here before,- we walked in and up to the counter, and the guy blank stared at us like we were idiots for coming to a restaurant ordering food ( no greeting or a “what can I get for you?”)
until my boyfriend asked “so do we grab a tray?” the staff member mumbled “yeah” then proceeded to not speak another word to us the entire interaction, so we kinda just guessed how to order- the other girl working was fine but everyone seemed annoyed to be working at the job they applied for- and listen I would give them the benefit of the doubt and say they were just having a bad day but there are multiple reviews about how they’ve acted this way on multiple occasions- they were even rude to the people in line behind us – I guess management doesn’t care that they are the face of the company- which is a shame because the food is so good I wish the service reflected that

The brisket ,smoked turkey and ribs were wonderful. The tamales were ok. The bake beans, mac /cheese, pasta salad and the Turnip greens were good. The cucumber salad was ok. It lacked any flavor. Loved the atmosphere!

Update: went a second time and was much happier. The ribs were thick and meaty, the brisket was tender and not just full of fat. I liked the beans, broccoli salad and the sauces.
So maybe it was just an off day my first visit!

I was really excited to try this place! Unfortunately I was kind of let down. The people behind the counter serving the food were unenthused and seemed like it was a bother that I didnt know how to order. The Mac and cheese was under salted, The ribs were super basic and under salted. The brisket was over cooked. I did like the refreshing zing in the cucumber onion salad. I think I may enjoy this place with a big group or during a big sporting event because the outside patio area is awesome and in the summer it looks like a blast.

Over all I really enjoyed it! Great establishment with it’s outdoor seating and sport on the big screen. I had brisket, ribs and turkey with mild and Alabama White Sauce. Sides was greens and street corn. The greens had the subtle bacon flavor as it should but without the overbearing vinegar taste many places use. The street corn had a good spicy taste, I really liked it. The banana pudding was my only thing. It just had the taste and texture of Jello brand banana Pudding mix. Not saying it tasted bad because it was still good. Just nothing special. The brisket and turkey was really darn good!! I’ll be back.

My colleagues absolutely love this place, and I see why! They come here often for food and drinks. Lunchtime isn’t ever crazy packed whenever I’ve went with them. I don’t eat pork but my favorite meats are the pastrami, brisket, and the turkey.

Pros:
1. Parking was easy.
2. The place smells amazing!
3. Great selection of meats and sides.
4. They give you reusable plastic cups for drinks.
5. Wide variety of boozy slushies.

Cons:
None.

Check this place out! It’s a fun place to get good food and drinks.

Carey Bringle (of Peg Leg Porker fame) has successfully introduced REAL Texas BBQ into Nashville, Tennessee!!! This place produces a solid offering of quality smoked meats using all of the right techniques to produce incredible flavors, and the sides should not be considered “secondary” to the BBQ as they are that good.

For meats I selected a Beef Rib (HUGE), Brisket, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage, and Smoked Pastrami. Opted for some cole slaw and the Texas Beans with Chorizo as my sides. I’ve dined at some incredible Texas BBQ joints in my time and Carey has brought to Nashville a true Texas BBQ experience. The Beef Rib was so tender (the cutter slid the bone out for me) and great flavors…so very different from standard pork ribs. The Brisket was spot-on tender, moist, and a great smoke flavor. Never had Smoked Pastrami before…this was INCREDIBLE and now I wonder how a shaved version on rye bread might be??? The Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage was good but mild. Nice pork flavor but no real Jalapeño heat or cheddar flavors to get it noticed. As for the sides, the cole slaw was good but the Texas Beans were the BEST I have ever had…period!!! If the line had not been so long when I was done, I would have picked up another quart. Service was exceptional with everyone there making sure customers had what they needed and were enjoying their meals.

They are in a great location (The Nations), tons of outdoor seating and the area is dog friendly. From the time I arrived till I left there was a line out the door but it moved quickly.
