Went here for lunch. They were very accommodating. They answered all our questions. Very friendly service. Food was phenomenal. I had snapper, chicken, and steak with potatoes and black eyed peas. My wife had the ham with turnip greens, yams, and black eyed peas. The sides were so good my wife kept forgetting about the ham. The ham was great but she kept going back to the sides. We had the crab cakes for an app and strawberry shortcake for dessert. We will definitely be returning.

The oldest restaurants in Birmingham AL. Do not be deceived by the exterior. The interior is beautiful and takes you back. The interior walls were painted with wooden walls and marble skirts. We were greeted with smiles and respect. The seating was semi private and comfortable especially with the age of the place. Our server was nice and attentive without asking. She knew the menu and was willing to share her thoughts on the menu selections. We were not pressured to leave and were encouraged to admire the surroundings. What a beautiful place and great food! We were guests for lunch, but this place will be a must do again! Thank you for a pleasant visit.

This was my first time visiting the Bright Star Restaurant. I give it 4 thumbs up! The food was well prepared. We ordered and the food shortly followed. We also had to go orders. Waiter was attentive as well. Great experience. A must try!

Best Old Fashioned I’ve had in the South. I wish I had taken pictures of all the food – it was so good – but I fell on the steak like a ravaging horde. Cooked perfectly, juicy, and the flavor was incredible. I sopped up all the juices! Pies are made fresh in house – which is hard to find!

My husband and I had reservations for 2 and when we arrived we didn’t have to wait to be seated. The service was great . I ordered the platter sampler which came with a juicy Greek style Chicken, Tender Tenderloin, and mouth watering Greek style Snapper. I had the sweet potato as my side and it also came with Gumbo and bread. The Gumbo was delicious and had the right amount of heat to it. My husband ordered the Stuffed Snapper and a baked potato and Gumbo. I tasted his Snapper and it was very tasty and came with a creamy sauce. ALL of the food was Bursting with FLAVOR. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely go back for sure.
