My husband and I came here with friends on valentines day… double date fun. I started off with a pepper oyster shooter for old times sake. It was good. Bartender meh, but our waiter was amazing. Sorry I didn’t get his name. Our food was amazing, my seabass was amazing…recommend . Hubby liked the seared Norwegian halibut, and friends enjoyed the scallops and center cut steak. I will definitely get the seabass when I go back.

We had a wonderful experience at Brigantine Seafood & Oyster Bar in La Mesa! The food was excellent and the service was great. We sat at the bar since the restaurant dining area was closed — it was pretty busy but not overwhelming, and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed.
The cod fish and chips were perfectly crispy and flavorful. For dessert, both the lemon blueberry cheesecake and crème brûlée were amazing — rich, fresh, and beautifully presented.
Overall, an excellent experience with delicious food, great service, and a comfortable vibe. We’ll definitely be back!

The food and service were amazing! Our server was very informative, knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. Our dinner choices were good sized portions and the food was absolutely delicious. If you’re not a seafood lover, no worries, as there are a few non-seafood options on the menu such as; Chicken, Steak and a wonderful beer-brined Pork chop. Expect to pay some $$, as the menu options can get a bit pricey, especially if you have a cocktail or 2, however, I feel their prices are right in line with other higher end establishments. Overall, it was a wonderful place to celebrate my 60th birthday!

Food is good, taco Tuesday is a great deal – with good portions. I wouldn’t have the Carnitas again, as it was very dry. The Buffalo Chicken tacos were just average. So far, I’d say the Fish and Skirt Steak tacos are a definite must try! Michelle the waitress was ON IT! Seating is not the whole dining room for Taco Tuesday – which I don’t mind at all. Classy Lunch!

We love the casual atmosphere and great service. We always sit in the bar area. We especially love the HH, when they have a lot of options around $7.00 each. I also like the Taco Tuesday’s. It can get crowded during HH and TT, otherwise it is easy to get a table! Enjoy!

Very nice first experience using a gift card on Tuesday late lunch. The only minus is the mid day bartender idea if an old fashion did not match mine. She enjoyed marinated grilled swordfish as I enjoyed mahi & udon noddles with shrimp. Service was doing it all to be useful. Decor is old school becau. Even have decent tooth picks. Recommend.

Came here with my aunt for happy hour and was met with quick service from the server. Happy hour bites and drink options were great. Towards the end of the meal, I went to use the bathroom and noticed the place was fully seated as well as packed with people standing around tables. I had to navigate around the standing room crowd which felt like a fire hazard. Additionally, because of the crowd, it seemed like the server had forgotten about us and we waited at least 20 minutes after eating to ask someone to close out. Another ten minutes for them to pick up the check and return the card.

The Brig is the premier place in East County for an elevated dining experience. The best part however is the bar which carries a huge selection of beers and alcohol as well as an excellent selection of seafood. I recommend the fish tacos, the oysters rock, the artichoke fritters and the calamari. The noise level is low and the service is always efficient and friendly.
