Excellent pork and sauerkraut. Perfect combination of meat and vegetable. Assorted vegetables on side adds color to plate. Also had lentil soup. Very good. Chicken and sweet potato in the soup. Emma, our server, always quick and attentive. Five stars!

My husband and I have been going to bridgeport weekly for the last 2 years. I work in the restaurant industry and bridgeport USED to be a 10/10 for us. this change in management has been the worst thing to ever happen to such a gem of a place. first, the staff that have been working there for years are fighting to keep up with the changes and witnessing management be rude to staff about small things during what looks to be a busy lunch rush is tasteless. they give little grace. ADDITIONALLY, the atmosphere was very eclectic and family centered. a place you felt at home. REPLACED BY LARGE FLAT SCREENS AND HORRIFIC WOBBLY TABLES. now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about the menu and food changes. The menu used to be reasonably priced and honestly the old owners could have even charged more because the quality was stellar. their menu was one sheet with things that they made wonderfully. Since the change in management, the prices went WAY up and the quality went WAY down. the food tastes awful and the new dessert case is an eyesore with smooshed desserts and dry looking pies. i would be happy to pay if the food was actually still good but unfortunately that’s the case. I know that the previous owners retired and great for them, but the new ownership should have never messed up a good thing. We officially won’t be back.

Breakfast was good, service was great. Our first visit since the new ownership. The table we had teetered a lot, and was very annoying. Coffee was constantly spilling. Planning on trying lunch next time. But overall a vast improvement from the previous owners. Price was very affordable as well.
Coffee was strong and good, but not a high end quality, but I had 2 cups, LOL
Go check it out for breakfast sometime.

Oh no!! Menu changed for the worse 🙁 I will happily change this review if they bring back the breakfast 2-2-2. $7.75 plus tax and tip ($10+ breakfast) is reasonable for 2 eggs, 2 bacon/sausage, 2 pancakes or French toast. $13.99 ($18+ with tax and tip) is not reasonable for the same thing (now called “Bridgeport Classic” or some nonsense), now with worthless home fries or tater tots. Just–please no. Double the price for grease-cooked potatoes? Used to be a worthwhile morning destination, but no thanks, cannot justify going here anymore until better options are made available again. Coffee is watery. Bring back quality and goodness!

I’ve been coming here with my family since I was a kid. It was my favorite place for my grandparents to take me.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t very baby/toddler friendly. There was no changing table in the bathroom, and I wasn’t able to get through when I tried calling ahead to ask. I was also disappointed by the new large TVs throughout the restaurant, as I like to take my children to TV free places and it wasn’t the atmosphere I once enjoyed. My omelet came out with the cheese not melted at all—still clearly shredded inside. It wasn’t the atmosphere I enjoyed before, and I don’t plan to return.

We will not return after being regular Sunday morning customers for quite a few years. We had several issues after the change in ownership and tried to overlook them. We made the hard decision after today’s visit. As soon as the previous owners were no longer helping the following happened each Sunday we went back, one Sunday at a time: Raw home fries, absolutely cold scrapple- looked great but apparently had been sitting for quite some time), and today we ordered 1 pancake, bacon, and the western omelet meal. It took over 30 minutes to get our food, with no explanation why or apologies. Apparently our order must have been misplaced in the kitchen. Everyone that came in after we did got their orders and some were done and left…..we sat wondering what was going on. We explained everything to the host Bob, while paying. Bob apologized to us (the only one to apologize) and wanted to give us free meals. We declined because that was not our intention. We just wanted someone we knew would care to be aware of everything. Guess we’re looking for a new Sunday breakfast place.

passing through the area on our way back home my husband and I stopped at this lovely little restaurant. from the outside it doesn’t look like much, but once inside it’s a very roomy, friendly atmosphere. A place where everyone knows everyone and you just don’t see that often anymore. our waitress was super nice, and the food was very in expensive and very good. we will definitely be back 10/10

This restaurant goes waayyyyyy above and beyond! I stopped to eat here for a late breakfast and right as my meal was being delvivered, I started feeling faint. I could tell I was going to pass out so I told the waitress to call 911, which she promptly did. I then passed out and fell out of the booth with a thud flat on my face. When I came to a minute later, one of the workers, an elderly gentleman close to my age, was holding a cold compress on my head and telling me the paramedics were on their way. I started feeling better almost immediately. Turns out it was low blood sugar. The paramedics came and checked me out and I ate some of my meal. The owner and staff treated me like a family member from the moment I walked in. The owner even heated up my plate of food after the paramedics left. They simply couldn’t do enough to help. Oh, and the food? I search places like this out when I’m on the road. This was truly good old-fashioned home cooking. Great food–and huge servings–with top-notch service. I can’t recommend this place enough, not just for the great and tasty food but for the owner and staff who truly provide 5-star service–again, above and beyond! Kudos to you folks!!!!

I went on a Saturday morning not knowing it was the busy time for the restaurant but is was worth every minute I was there for a great breakfast. I sat at the diner style bar and ordered a veggie omelet and French toast. It took about 15 minutes to get my food but it was worth the wait. The home fries were cooked perfectly and the omelet was great. The service was awesome, as my coffee cup and iced tea were never empty. I really enjoyed this place, and if I am back in the area, I will be back!
