The portion for the grilled cheese was small. It tasted good, but it looked like hamburger buns was used for the bread, which was a bit disappointing. I was hungry after finishing it and my side of soup. It was a tomato dill soup which wasn’t bad, but I discovered dill isn’t my kind of flavor. The fresh squeezed lemonade was nothing special. We got the sweet potato cake which was very moist and tasted lovely! It was my first time having that kind of cake.

They make a REALLY GOOD tomato soup. The interior is interesting… definitely not what I anticipated. They got good cake slices too. I will say that the price points are a little bit more than I desired, but it was a great meal.

Brick Street Café is known for their desserts and rightly so. As I am sure many here will agree, the Sweet Potato Cake is the best cake I have ever eaten. The German Chocolate might be the second best. If you want one of these, best to order a few days ahead to make sure. No birthday is complete without one of these cakes. So, yes the desserts are fantastic but the restaurant is also very good. You really can’t go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu. They used to be open for dinner but I believe that they are only open for lunch now.

Wonderful place with excellent service. I’d love to see the food uplifted, and I know they are capable of better. I had a grilled cheese and salad, it was super basic and if some of that magic used for the cakes was applied, the food could be 5 stars.

Sara has created such a unique dining experience inside! All the dishes are delicious and beautifully presented! Eat the CAKE! Don’t forget to wander the garden downstairs either before your meal or after, to just let the serenity wash over you!

The sweet potato cake was spectacular! I was rather disappointed with the sweet potato pie. Doesn’t compare to my grandmother’s or my wife’s.

Love the coziness of this lunch spot, look for the trio on the menu (muffin, chicken salad, fruit). The staff was so nice and everyone is hustling during the busy lunch hour. Make sure to try the sweet potatoe cake (sounds weird but it was so fluffy and delicious with cream cheese icing)

I visited this establishment today and noticed that it was adorned with purple balloons. The signage said”Celebrate Ms Sue’s Birthday “.Upon approaching the cash register to request the much coveted””sweet potato cake”,I noticed an elderly black lady adorned with a purple sash that said Birthday Queen.I approached her and said an enthusiastic Happy Birthday,to where she grunted the obligatory “Thank you”.I noticed that there were pictures on the counter of her and a white family as it appeared that she was their nanny growing up.I’ve been here many times and had never seen anything that depicted her or her connection to the store.I asked the young guy at the register what Ms.Sues connection was to the cafe in that they were celebrating her birthday publicly. He stated “that she was the person behind the recipes for their cakes and more specifically for her “Sweet Potato Cake”.I was like wow! So,basically she is the establishment !!!

Always a fun experience. The decor and overall “vibe” is very fun. Perfect place to meet girlfriends for lunch. I can’t resist the sweet potato cake. Also pictured is the fruit plate with chicken salad and a Love Muffin. The fruit sweet potato cake was great as usual… but, the other food was subpar. I’ve had this same meal probably 20 times and it is usually great. So, I’ll chalk it up to being an off day which can totally happen.

Went here with my cousin for lunch one day. Very unique one of a kind place. Ordered the Rachel…which is a turkey sandwhich…. Turkey was hot and had coleslaw and this yummy sauce! I ordered a salad as my side. They also have cupcakes and cake here. I tried a sweet potato cupcake and it was yummy! Cream cheese icing tasted homemade would definitely go back again for sure. Oh, my cousin ordered the BBQ sandwich…pulled pork…was moist and perfect, not dry at all.
