Brownstone, Uplands Swansea
Last week we went to @brewstone Swansea to check out their Double Up Thursday offer, where you can get 2x pizzas, 2x sides or tapas and 2x glasses of wine for £35.
The pizza flavours available were incredible and the house rose was stunning. I’ll list everything we ate in the description.
They do plenty of offers throughout the week including happy hour, Brewniversity challenge and Tapas Mondays.
For fabulous food and service in the gorgeous Uplands, check them out.
What we ate:
*Mediterranean lamb wood fired pizza: Slow roasted lamb, lemon oil, rosemary, braised peppers & pomodoro sauce
*Funghi wood fired pizza: Pomodoro sauce, garlic oil, sauteed mushrooms & spinach
*Pork belly: Glazed pork belly bites, aioli and toasted sesame
*Patatas bravas: Crispy garlic potatoes with a spicy smoked paprika sauce, drizzled with aioli
*Chocolate brownie: Warm chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce & vanilla ice cream
*House rose x2
Thanks so much for having us

Will return and try the breakfast.
One to recommend.
How long does it take 4-6 members of staff to bring your drinks from the bar from the bar to your table (2.5 metres away)? About 10 minutes!! Apparently random chatting and just standing around are more important.
Long story short; items missing from our meals, being told that “that’s how it comes” when our son’s meal was missing items which were described in the menu, being asked how our meal was by two members of staff who were clearly going through the motions (we could tell there wasn’t going to be any point in saying anything) then finally being slightly condescendingly told that we needed to drink up as they were closing soon when, again, we’d just been left there ignored while they fannied about not bringing our deserts. Probably all too busy planning their subsequent nights out.
The food was fine, nothing to complain about, but nothing special.
My partner then provided direct feedback online in response to a feedback request. She’s more diplomatic than I am. She didn’t get a response or acknowledgment.
When there are so many great options to choose from in Swansea why bother with this place?
A nice hello from the front desk and we were shown to a table. We were drawn by the pizza oven, and it is sat in a small open kitchen.
Whilst we had an alright drink and the food was average, this could have been so much better.
We were asked about drinks nice and quickly, but they sat on the bar, waiting for a server to bring them over, but they were busy chatting to each other.
Olives and bread were ordered to nibble on, the olives forgotten.
Three pizza and a ribs were ordered, two of the pizza bottoms were burnt. The waitress didn’t know what food she was bringing out, and really didn’t care either, it was funny to her. No one asked if our food was alright after getting it.
It frustrates me when simple things make an experience bad. Poorly trained staff who don’t know or care (which was worse) what the dishes are and are standing around chatting whilst there are customers who need looking after.
It’s not cheap to eat or drink here, and there is plenty of competition to choose from, would I go back again? Probably not.
Could BrewStone be amazing, yes it really could.
