The food is OUTSTANDING, I can’t overemphasize how good the food is. The salads are the best and they’re great at making all sorts of unique lattes.
The staff is excellent, very welcoming and friendly, attentive and helpful. I’m in town visiting from Seattle and I’m beyond impressed with Brew’d Awakenings – highly recommend! I’ll make it a point to stop in each time I visit – it’s Minnesota’s best!
My wife and I have been going here for some time now, and all was well until I had the unmitigated audacity to ask for a refill for my coffee. The gentleman that was there told me with a smile on his face that he’d be glad to get me a refill, but that’s when the woman behind the counter cut in. She informed me me in no uncertain terms that they do not give coffee refills to people that order their coffee in paper cups but only offer BOTTOMLESS refills for people with ceramic cups. This still boggles my mind. She didn’t even suggest a refill charge. She just shot me down point blank.
Now, we’ve been buying our meat at Wiste Meat Market for 35 years, and we all remember fondly how Ron bent over backward to be personable and friendly to each and every customer. Sometimes it was the highlight of our day to simply walk through those front doors and be greeted with his big smile and gleaming eyes and enthusiastic “Great to see you, what can I get for for you today.” So to have been treated so poorly for asking for a refill on a cup of coffee has made me wonder what has happened here.
Now, I’m not sure of the business relationship between the Meat Market and the coffee shop, but this has definitely soured us on continuing our patronage.
May I suggest that the owners watch the above-mentioned video because for the price of a simple refill on a cup of coffee, Wistes has lost a family’s patronage and subsequent monies.
