So good! I walked in a bit later in the day for lunch and they were crowded but had a table without waiting. Quick and friendly service with plenty of drink refills. The steak tips and gravy were amazing. I seriously contemplated if I could get a dozen orders to go and reliably keep chilled for my 4 day drive home. My stay in the area was extended by a day so I was able to return for breakfast. They were just as busy as the day before but still the same great service and food. The brisket skillet was so good!

I’m super picky about breakfast. Nothing better than a meal that feels like it’s cooked at home and this was just that. Biscuits were delicious. Mojo potatoes and pancakes were good, too. My eggs were cooked just right and the grits were thick and only needed a bit of butter to make them just the way I like. Great choice for breakfast. Im not from the area but if we ever come back, we will definitely stop in again.

The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the food was great quality and came out quick. Gotta get there early to beat the crowd though, by 8 am it gets really packed on Saturday. All this food was less than $20 after tax. You can’t beat that in this economy. Overall great place to eat.

Order the beignets! Food was delicious, and service was even better!! Jamie was our server and she was absolutely the best! She was very helpful and welcoming and kind to our kids. Chicken fried steak was great and the burgers are obviously made fresh by hand. We just went through town and stopped based on reviews and I’m glad we went! Turnip greens were bland but everything else was awesome!

I ordered take out. Waited 30 min in store before asking for the food (my fault I assumed someone would bring it to me). Burger buns soggy. Cheese melted then hardened. Fries limp (Associated with the 30 min wait no doubt)
The food just wasn’t good. No seasoning and poor flavor. I wouldn’t recommend a takeout burger.

Everything was fresh and delicious. Customer service is great. Will definitely make this our go to for breakfast and lunch. Prices reasonable, portions are BIG! Only open until 2, so come early.

GO GET Y’ALL A TASTE OF BELLE’S OLE SOUTH DINER!
I love this place!
It’s loud, crowded, has great food and the friendliest wait staff I’ve ever been served by. I have eaten here a handful of times in the past couple of months for both breakfast and lunch. I highly recommend this diner for both meal times. On this particular visit we telephoned a drive up window order. We placed two separate orders, each of which contained 3 Beignets and a side order of Apple Wood Smoked Bacon. They were the very best Beignets I’ve had in years and the light saltiness and smokey flavor of the bacon balances the sweetness to perfection. We’d have saved $2 had we ordered a half dozen with a double side of bacon but Beignets are messy enough at the table. I didn’t want to be wearing a shower of powdered sugar all day by trying to share a box in the truck while driving. I’ve had this twice and it is my absolute favorite breakfast, bar none.
The plate in the middle is a fried pork chop dinner with green beans and mashed potatoes plus a roll. They do have milk gravy available per your preference. That is 2 chops y’all. One was a bit smaller so I guess that’s why I got 2 but, the extra truly isn’t needed. As you can see in the pictures, the portion sizes are quite generous. The third picture is the ‘Pawpaw’s Breakfast’. It is your choice of breakfast meat including ham, sausage patty, smoked sausage, turkey sausage, or bacon, 2 eggs cooked to order, toast or biscuit, grits or ‘MoJo’ potatoes(what some may know as O’Brien potatoes). My over medium eggs were cooked to perfection. The ham had good flavor but was a little on the dry side; a little oil on the griddle or skillet would have fixed that but it was still good.
I’ve also had their fried catfish and let me tell you, they do it well. I’ve never had better and there is no other to compare. It’s great y’all.
The menu prices floored me. It is so economical to eat here. The breakfast menu ranges from $3.99-$12.49 and one of those is with a ribeye steak cooked to order. The lunch menu ranges from $5.49- $13.99, the higher priced items being Redfish and Chicken Fried Steak.
I can’t recommend this place enough. You must go and try it out for yourself but don’t wait too late for a lunch date because they close at 2 PM. They are only open on Saturday for breakfast from 6-11, no lunch service.

Mellow
I was visiting Monroe and looking for a breakfast restaurant that served grits. Google recommended Belles. When I walked in I got a weird feeling and some of the people looked at me like what are you doing here. Then I realized that ONLY white people were coming in. I happened to be the only black person there. But the waitresses made me feel comfortable and the food was very good.
