Nostalgia! Stopped by for breakfast at this Fondren staple! Service from Starla was outstanding! She was so polite, courteous and efficient! She took great care of our party of 5. Most of the food was delicious! French toast, grits, eggs, chicken and waffles were great! Wish the bacon was not over cooked. The brunch burgers and fries were good also!

Stopped for lunch on a Monday, while on our way through town. We were seated immediately. Service was wonderful and quick. We ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, burgers, fries, and a kid’s grilled cheese. Everything was tasty. Only complaint was that the fries were a bit soggy, even though they didn’t appear that way. We also ordered a pb&j milkshake that was tasty. Atmosphere was great. We recommend visiting.

Brent’s Drugs is a historical Jackson staple!

Excellent for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the milkshakes are out of this world.

Breakfast is cooked to order eggs, crispy bacon, , pancakes , omelettes, and toast among other common breakfast items. Hot coffee ☕️ is always ready.

Lunches of tuna sandwich, egg salad, pimento cheese, clubs, grilled cheeses and burgers and fries and onion rings.

Brent’s has the charm of a diner/drug store from the 40’s with a modern kitchen and service.

Eat at Brent’s.

First off, for travelers – Brent’s is in the middle of a well kept Mid-Century shopping strip center, and their sign faces north. If you’re coming from the south (Lakeland) you could miss it.

The place is super charming and clean. It was obvious that locals and regulars were eating lunch there. One well-dressed little elderly couple were on a lunch date, had soup for their meal, and then each ordered a big sundae. They weren’t rookies.

My patty melt was quite good, but the onion rings stole the show. Giant slices of sweet onion, very obviously hand-battered. The whole family enjoyed their meal… including two who got excellent milkshakes.

The staff was very sweet. There was a little mix-up at the start over whose section we were in, which was smoothed over beautifully. After it was sorted out, the other server came by once later in our meal just to check on us. How the staff handles a simple mix-up says a lot, and they were great. You can tell they care, so I’m happy to give 5 stars for service. They earned it.

A neat little place almost hidden away in the heart of the city. The food was delicious, although the onion rings were very greasy but crisp. The burger was a tad overcooked, but that was my fault for not specifying first, but was still delicious though. The chocolate malt was perfect . I did enjoy the location and the vintage look and feel of anything. The issue I had with the atmosphere is that I was being pestered by gnats and flies that made their way inside.

Overall though, I would say this is a must visit for Jackson.

We decided to stop in while traveling south to a car show, and so thankfully that we did. This had to have been the best cheeseburger I have had in a long time. No special toppings, no weird sauces, no gimmicks…. just a really good cheeseburger in an old school diner. I will certainly be stopping back into Brent’s in the future
