Reviews
My husband had already been to this place last year and recommended it. He kept saying we would love it and that they served the best French toast ever. So, we drove there. It’s right next to the police station, which made me feel extra safe—because, you know, in this quiet little town, if nothing happens, we’re still safe. (My logic is flawless, right?)
The town itself is so low-key it feels like time just moves slower there. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed were two tables by the window. For a moment, I honestly thought the guy sitting there was a mannequin. He was just that still. I loved the cozy vibe!
Then I spotted a table covered with books. To my wonderful surprise, this wasn’t just breakfast for the body—it was breakfast for the soul. They had Bibles, magazines about dogs (yes, Gundogs!), and uplifting messages straight from the Word of God. Right at the entrance, they have the menus, but nothing really caught my attention, so I made my own custom order.
Here’s how it works: you walk up to the counter, order your food, and they bring it to your table. I ordered pancakes, one egg, ham, and sausage. And let me tell you… that sausage was the best I’ve ever had! Usually, sausages taste like they were mass-produced in a factory, but this one was succulent. It had a little spice—not too much, just enough to make me want another bite.
Coffee is self-serve, with regular and decaf. And I loved the Coca-Cola bottles filled with maple syrup—it’s the little details that win me over. The bathroom? Uber clean. The kitchen is in plain view, which made me feel as safe as if I were inside the police station next door.
We were four in total. The other two ordered fruit with something else and couldn’t stop saying how fresh and sweet it was. Another guest tried the French toast and declared it was heavenly. Someone else had the bacon and said it was the best she’d ever tasted. Honestly, you can feel the food here is cooked with divine love.
I truly loved this place, and I’m so glad I went. At first, I thought the name “Breaking Bread” was just a clever spin on the show Breaking Bad, but once I was there, I knew exactly what it meant. (Hint: you should find out for yourself!)
I give this breakfast spot a solid “divine appointment” rating—as if it was planned for you since before the foundation of the earth.
I never would’ve thought to add gravy, eggs, and bacon on top—but it took the dish to a whole new level. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the waffle was both crispy and fluffy, and every bite was packed with incredible flavor. A total must-try!
It was so good, I had to go back and tell the cook myself—he deserved all the praise.
Honestly, if you don’t like the people here, do some self reflection. I love their spiritual devotion. It’s refreshing.
Great food, reasonably priced, and kind staff. Will be back, and can’t wait 🙂
