We went to try their signature items: the Classic Belgian waffle, Bacon Wafflet, and The Doughboy. The Classic Belgian was nicely done—golden and crispy on the outside with a buttermilk interior, and the whipped cream and syrup options made it a pleasant treat. The Wafflets are a really creative twist (eggs shaped like waffles!), and both came out fresh, hot, and satisfying. The Bacon Wafflet had good crispy bacon bits mixed in, and The Doughboy was the highlight with its tasty combo of bacon, ham, pepper jack cheese, and sourdough—all pressed together nicely.NO breakfast potatoes which they were out of. NO hot sauce to top the eggs with as they were also out of. Service was friendly and efficient, food arrived quickly, and the relaxed, quiet atmosphere made for a comfortable visit. Prices are very reasonable ($4–$10 range), so you definitely get good value for a fun, no-fuss breakfast. It’s a decent spot with some unique offerings—worth stopping by if you’re in the area. We left underwhelmed & just hoping for a bit more seasoning or toppings next time to take it from good to great. Happy to give it 3 stars—enjoyable and fairly priced

This was one of the worst breakfast experiences I have had. It should have been a sign that a breakfast joint wasn’t busy late on a Sunday morning.

This place has all the right pieces…good location, great looking menu with innovative items, cute interior design, decent prices. However, the implementation is horrible. I hope they can figure it out.

Our experience: Our group of 4 was seated right away and waters were delivered. It then took over 15 minutes for our order to be taken. During the order we were informed that they were out of yogurt and maybe out of GF bagels, and they would check on that. During the next 45 minutes, 5-7 other groups came in and were seated. 2 of these groups got up and left after not being spoken to after 10-15 minutes. Our food eventually showed up in multiple shifts. 2 waffles and two green bananas and informed that they were out of whipped cream that was supposed to be on top of waffles. Then silverware and napkins were delivered next. Then breakfast sandwich, and informed they were out of GF bagels. GF toast was the alternative. That comes later…literally two dry pieces of toast with some halves of bacon set in front of me and waiter leaves. I got up to find butter and jelly (there was NOTHING on the table), and asked a server who had shown up and also informed them they had 4+tables that hadn’t had their orders taken. Butter and jelly arrives, and I watch my oatmeal being mixed and put in the microwave. It shows up later with the consistency of rubber (picture is exactly hope it came). New person apologizes and takes oatmeal off ticket while we pay. Other food was decent, but nothing outstanding.

This place was great, and unique. Staff is perfect, one of the owners even brought us our food. A perfect and timely experience for what one would expect at a brunch type place. The only reason I gave the atmosphere 4 stars is because while the seating is true to the theme of the place, and also aestheticly appealing, it was not the most comfortable. I can easily overlook that, because I WILL be back. Oh yeah. I had the TBA..

I recently moved back to Lincoln and never been to unhinged before. I decided to check it out on a Sunday morning.

This will be broken down into 3 sections. Food, hospitality, and atmosphere.

Food:
There was a wide variety of choices. I can understand why they are called unhinged. I loved the creativity of their food. An Inlet waffle? It looked so good! I asked the server what I should get and he recommended a few things.

Oh my goodness…I was blown away by their cinnamon waffle. Soft yet firm. Not too sweet, but a perfect combination of batter and topping. The bacon was crispy and delicious. The eggs came out in a circular round (kind of like McDonald’s), but the consistency of the eggs were a good balance between over easy and over medium. I wasn’t expecting them to come in circles, but they were good either way. The eggs and bacon weren’t too greasy or messy.

During the meal, I had the opportunity to talk to my waiter and the owners of the restaurant. This is where I move to Hospitality

Hospitality:
Right when I entered, there was only two other guest finishing their breakfast. I showed up around 9:35am. I was surprised there wasn’t that many people in the restaurant. I was greeted by the owner (Chris). He personally led me to a table and we had a lovely conversation. My server was his son Treyvan. He was very attentive and helpful in my order. He was cordial and professional. I found out that it was a family owned restaurant. At the end of the meal I got to meet Chris’s spouse, Melinda. Both of them were so kind and we had some great conversation. I found out that they are open 24hrs on the weekend. The last part is Atmosphere.

Atmosphere:
I am quite impressed at the care and dedication they have for their community. The tables are handcrafted and wide enough to sit comfortably behind at any size of person. I’m a little bigger than most and I felt quite comfortable. You can feel the “mom and pop” feel, while seeing the passion of their heart and soul in the restaurant.

Honestly, I was shocked how welcome I felt compared to a church that I visited less than a mile away. I felt more seen and welcomed at unhinged. Wild.. the inside made me feel like I was at a restaurant in the tropics and waiting to go out surfing. There wasn’t any music playing and I LOVED IT. As a person who likes to eat and hear his own thoughts, this was fantastic. I felt at peace and not in a rush.

Also, their prices for food, AMAZING! why isn’t this place more hopping?!

Overall, I’ve only found a very few breakfast places I love. This makes my top 5 list for: quality of food, hospitality, and price. My other top four are across the nation. Great place for Nebraskans. Definitely my favorite breakfast place in Lincoln! Don’t drag your feet on this place! Get in there and experience it yourself!

Excellent restaurant and amazing customer service! We held an event here for our entire staff and absolutely loved the food, the phenomenal service and atmosphere. It is obvious how much heart and joy the owners put into their restaurant and their staff. They truly care about what they do! We will definitely come back and absolutely recommend them for your upcoming event!

100/10 an incredible place. I had a breakfast platter with silver dollar pancakes, sausage eggs and some brioche toast and it was incredible. Everything is clearly homemade with fresh ingredients. They had sugar free and gluten free options as well. The owner was incredibly kind and offered fantastic suggestions for food as well as for things around Lincoln to do. It is very family oriented as well! There were games and cards available, we got the cards out to play a game while we were waiting for our food but our food came out so quickly that we didn’t get a chance! We had pretty much a silent table while we scarfed down our delicious food- that speaks to how good it was! Afterwards, my family really enjoyed playing card games at the table while sipping on some tasty coffee. We had a group of 6 and had not one complaint from any of us. I would recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone and we will most definitely be coming back. Thank you guys for a wonderful family breakfast!

Oh and very reasonably priced also!!

Good news first. The prices are great! It seems like they need to go up to be healthy for the business. The place has a great family owned charm, which I always love. The owner was on the floor and seemed kind and charming.

Bad news; the menu’s font and watermark make it very difficult to read. An elderly person would have a very hard time. No hashbrowns (at least that I could find). Everything is a sandwich (which i didn’t get from the restaurants name). The coffee was good but came out in to-go cups. When the server brought out our drinks, she had the lips of water glasses pressed against her shirt instead of on a tray. The sandwiches were smaller than expected. They were also just like an egg sandwich you would make at home. The toasted bread we not very toasted, despite the menu showing press lines. The food also came out in three waves, my wife’s, mine, and then we waited and waited for our shared waffle. The service was kind of slow in general. The waffle was cold and not crispy when it finally arrived. And then it came with no butter or syrup, and we had to ask. The server did apologize for the long waits but tried to blame another employee, which seemed tacky.

I am always rooting for small businesses, and being an owner myself, I know it can be difficult to get an objective perspective. The place looked reasonably busy on Sunday, and I hope they make the few improvements needed to push this over the edge. But for now, we will not be returning.

We got the cinnamon roll waffle, the breakfast pizza waffle, the dough boy waffle, and the slugger sandwich. The wait time for food was a little long but granted it was a Sunday morning. The food was delicious! The slugger and the dough boy were our favorites! Definitely will be returning as there was plenty of unique items on the menu!

What a weird experience. My friend and I were the only ones in the restaurant. Took a bit to be greeted, that’s fine. Then we were sat in the overseating area. Also fine. The item my friend wanted they didn’t have the ingredients for so he opted for his second option. Fine. The option I wanted was available but they didn’t have the aioli. Fine. When we got our food, it was literally just a sandwich that you make yourself. No chips, no included side option, just a sauceless homemade sandwich on white bread. For $12? Less than fine. The sandwiches were edible but it was truly something you could make at home with leftovers. Weird experience. Likely won’t go back and won’t recommend but if you’re close by and curious to try a new place, won’t stop ya.

This was the oddest and most uncomfortable restaurant experience I’ve had. As soon as my partner and I sat down, two people across from us were getting up to leave while the owner was trying to talk to them into staying. My partner and I hesitantly ordered and then four other patrons close to us also got up and left!!! My partner and I instantly had a bad feeling…but we stayed because we were hungry. My partner ordered the breakfast pizza waffle and they instead gave her an extremely burnt plain waffle with marinara sauce on the side and the waiter assured her it was correct… then they ended up giving her the actual breakfast pizza waffle and it had raw meat, and tasted like a mouthful of oregano. It was not good. I ordered a yogurt parfait and it was 90% whipped cream(no yogurt) with like three halves of strawberries and the other 10% was graham cracker dust at the bottom… it was not good. For the 4 patrons that left earlier the owner said they still made their food and we could take it… my
Partner took this apple cinnamon waffle and the waffle itself was raw… overall just a really bad and uncomfortable experience…
