I went to the Breakfast Republic at their downtown location over the weekend and had a really great experience. Even though it was busy, we were seated in about 15 mins. The ambiance is casual and relaxed.

We started with their in-house freshly squeezed orange juice and the Breakfast Republic specialty latte with vanilla, chai, and mocha. Both were delicious. The OJ was refreshing, and the latte was comforting.

For food, we ordered the Hot Chick Benedict and their Chilaquiles. Everything was flavorful and satisfying, with generous portions and well-seasoned sauces.

We also tried their limited-time special, the Golden Harvest French Toast, and this was the highlight. The brioche French toast topped with ricotta, fig jam, cinnamon-roasted pears, and a sweet honeycomb crumble was absolutely amazing. It was rich & perfectly sweet, and we honestly devoured the whole plate.

Overall, a really enjoyable brunch with great drinks and standout food.

We were lookin for a place to have breakfast while visiting San Diego from Texas. We walked in to this place out of the blue .

We got seated asap (table 2 ) and we had phenomenal service. Everyone was working together which was a breath of fresh air. From the host to the server to the bus boy. Everyone seems looks happy to work there and all had great attitude.

Food was amazing as well! Highly recommend the Bacon Pancakes and my wife loved their Cafe de Oya.

Will definitely be back.

Breakfast Republic absolutely brings together great food, great vibe, and truly standout service. First off, Kayla deserves a massive shoutout, she was phenomenal. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful in everything she did. She checked in at all the right moments, made sure everything was perfect, and brought such positive energy to the table. Experiences like this are rare, and she’s absolutely the kind of team member who elevates the entire restaurant. Seriously, give her a raise!

What we ordered:
Orange juice & coffee – refreshing and a perfect start
Protein pancakes – absolutely amazing, fluffy and satisfying
Chicken fennel sausage with scrambled eggs – flavorful and cooked perfectly
Side of turkey bacon – crisp and delicious
Side of French toast with strawberry and mascarpone – sweet, creamy, and indulgent in the best way

The food was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh. You could really tell the ingredients are high quality. On top of that, the place has an awesome vibe lively, welcoming, and perfect for a relaxed breakfast or brunch.

Between the food, the atmosphere, and Kayla’s exceptional service, this was an easy five-star experience. Can’t wait to come back.

We ate at Breakfast Republic in San Diego and it absolutely delivered.
I ordered the Shrimp & Crab Cake Eggs Benedict — and wow. So, so good. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, and the crab cake had great texture. My wife took a few bites and immediately said it might be the best breakfast dish in San Diego.

She ordered the San Diego Eggs Benedict and enjoyed it — saying it was flavorful and really well done — but even she admitted mine stole the show.

If you’re deciding what to order… go with the Shrimp & Crab Cake Eggs Bene. You won’t regret it.

And our waitress was amazing!

Service and hospitality was great from everyone. Food was delicious. Mexican Mocha coffee was really good, the OJ was freshly squeezed and superb. Breakfast burger was thumbs up! I got the cinnamon roll pancakes and was impressed. It was not overly sweet at all and very good. The line was long but moved quickly.

Breakfast Republic has creative options and twists on the typical breakfast. I chose the mushroom pesto Benedict. The sauces were incredible and the breakfast potatoes had a delicious flavorful crisp. They were perfectly spiced. The atmosphere is fun and friendly! The views street-side are pretty. The interior is modern and festive. The service was attentive and helpful. Prices were reasonable too.

Overall, the food was good. The Shrimp & Grits were good just different because I never had corn in my grits. I wish the potatoes were seasoned and cooked a little longer. I loved the coffee!!!They give you large portions. It was really busy but the wait was not that long. The downtown location seems smaller than other location. It was really clean and is located in the heart of downtown.

Breakfast Republic was an absolute delight. The food was great. The service was super fast and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Gustavo at the G street location was the best!! I loved the overall ambiance of the restaurant and it’s clearly a fan favorite based on how much business was coming through! If you’re looking for great fast service stop by.

Great experience. Don’t be fooled by the long line- it actually goes by quick. We signed up and walked around, all other breakfast spots in the area, had longer wait times. People are super friendly and so open to give recommendations- which were on point.

I tried the shrimp grits- I love them and figured if I didn’t like them- my family was willing to share their food (which was basic traditional breakfast- so you can’t mess it up). My shrimp and grits were so good and their brussel sprouts were amazing- don’t worry they might look a little burnt but they were so good. We tried their three-pancakes as well (don’t judge, lol.. yes, it might have looked like a lot on our table but we needed to eat enough to hold us over for our long drive home). Anyhow, our fave was for sure the pineapple pancake. No regrets here, we will def be back here the next time we’re in San Diego.

A Must-Visit in SD! Unique & Addictive Flavors.
Chilaquiles: The perfect way to kick off a San Diego trip with authentic Mexican vibes. The corn tortillas were tossed in a vibrant, slightly spicy red sauce and topped with plenty of fresh cilantro. I was impressed by the texture—even with the rich sauce, the tortillas stayed perfectly crunchy.
Mr. Presley French Toast: A legendary, salty-sweet masterpiece. The combination of heavy peanut butter, sweet bananas foster, and savory bacon salt is pure indulgence. It’s bold, rich, and incredibly unique—a flavor profile I’ll never forget.
The portions are generous and every dish is a creative delight. I arrived right at opening and was seated immediately, but the place filled up in a heartbeat with a long line forming outside. Highly recommended, but definitely get there early!
