My god. What a truly wonderful experience. Seen this place for a while and finally had occasion to stop in. I had the house special supreme chorizo hash and I wouldn’t change a thing. My buddy got the breakfast burrito and it looked great he approved. Came with a pancake. Intelligentsia coffee. And not bad money wise. Staff was super friendly, and attentive. Seating was great, they had a counter as well. And, not for nothing, I do love a place you can get a cocktail with breakfast. I was not able to partake this time. But I will.

A friend suggested meeting at The Breakfast House for breakfast on a Monday morning around 9 am. This place is on Harlem just north of Belmont, for those not aware of this stretch of north Harlem; it is single lane north and single lane south with a parking lane on each side. It often backs up because people are trying to turn left and waiting for a break in traffic or they are trying to parallel park. The Breakfast house has a small lot for maybe about ten cars, larger SUVs and large trucks may have a problem maneuvering and exiting. When I pulled in, a large delivery truck was unloading, all spots were taken and I had to backup into Harlem avenue to find street parking. Street parking is free but challenging on the weekends. I did turn on a side street and found parking. There was a permit block two blocks in but that first block was open to anyone. On a weekend morning this would be a difficult place to go to if you needed to park.
I was surprised to find the menu missing some standards like Denver Omelet or corned beef hash; you can build your own Denver Omelet (it would cost $19.80), they also had a variety of specialty hash just not the traditional. I ended up with the corn meal cakes with ham and eggs; the corn meal is instead of potato, and the ham was deli ham. My friend had house hash, I found the andouille sausage on the spicy side, but he did not think so. I also had a mocha latte, I do not drink at Starbucks, but my impression is Starbucks would be at least a dollar more expensive than the $5.75 The Breakfast House charged. They did get tripped up on one of my pet peeves- the pancakes were served with cold butter; I was ripping apart the pancake when attempting to spread the butter. Another possible issue is the bathroom- the men’s is a single, I assuming the same for ladies. That could be a bit of a wait on a busy weekend morning.

My husband and I were looking for a nice and quick breakfast spot for our anniversary. The food was amazing!! So fresh!! Unfortunately, we went exactly at 12:00 pm under the summer heat, and there was no air conditioner. I am not sure if that is an everyday thing or maybe the air was down that day. But again, the food and the service were amazing!

This was my first visit to Breakfast House, and I really enjoyed it! The omelet was incredibly fresh, and the French toast is definitely something I’ll be coming back for. I loved the unique twist of Mexican-inspired breakfast dishes—it’s a refreshing change from typical breakfast fare. The flavors were outstanding, so I’d highly recommend giving Breakfast House a try!

The customer service was great and the location was nice and clean. They have lots of Gluten-free options and are labeled making ordering very easy and pleasant. Chilaquiles tasted fresh and the mango margarita was excellent. Couldn’t recommend this place anymore than I am! You will go home happy and STUFFED!
