In the ashes of what Boxers was, arises the Phoenix of Breakers. It may be the same building, same prices, same atmosphere, but the update of the interior and ventilation makes it THE SPOT. The new owner gave the place the face lift it needed, even though I do miss the old feel. New pool tables, new drink menu, new food program. Awesome spot. Smoking is still allowed, but the new ventilation systems and air purification systems make it comfortable for smokers and nonsmokers alike. Come in and take a Break.

This was the first time I’ve visited since it was Boxer’s, and as a dive bar it gets 5 stars from me.
It IS smoking, but they post this on the doors and don’t try to hide it. Yes, the smoke can get bad. So if you don’t like being around smoke, go to one of the many non-smoking bars in the area.
Beer selection is the usual options at bars in the area. They have drink specials, but even at regular prices it’s cheap. I didn’t order any liquor so I’m not sure how that’s priced, but the selection seems pretty decent for shots and such.
Food menu is pretty much just fried stuff… which is what you want in a dive bar. It’s also relatively cheap, and you can’t beat the 50-cent wings on Sundays. I also appreciated that when they ran out of thawed wings, they thawed more wings the right way instead of just sticking them in hot water to thaw fast (which would be unsafe) or frying from frozen and drying them out. They also told me right after putting the order in, that it was going to be awhile. No big deal for me, but the communication was appreciated.
The bartender was friendly and quick, and it seems like they set up the bar to put out drinks quickly. The crowd seems friendly enough. Bathroom is pretty clean. And there’s parking nearby; luckily it’s just a 5-minute walk for me.
I’ll go back for sure. It’s pretty rare in 2025 that you can go into a bar on a Sunday afternoon and get two dozen wings and three draft beers and still get change from a $20.

Lived in towns and cities across this great nation, I’m in Manhattan now the east village. If somehow boxers was transported here to the village, there wouldn’t be enough room for the people wanting to get in. I fell in love with the place while living in the Poconos, I would drive back and forth to go there, finally I moved to north Hampton because of the place. It got a mix of people which made the place interesting. They didn’t have to compete with the other local joints, what made the place work so well had allot to do with the owner. Wasn’t afraid to try new things without trying to copy other bars. It’s been some time since I was last there, I hope it hasn’t changed too much. I knew some great people there, I had to move on, but I missed the place and some very special people. It worth checking out and staying for a while.

Best service. Wanted a snake bite shot. They “didn’t have lime juice” but after requesting it, they went and got it and made the PERFECT SHOT. In case you’re wondering how serious this review is, let’s just say I don’t use the word perfect often. Owner Mark is a true customer service professional which are hard to come by these days. Nothing but the highest of recommendations for this local gem if you’re looking for a fun, enjoyable, relaxing yet surprisingly exhilarating night out. Bartender Jessica was amazing. You can tell she really knows her drinks, a true master of her craft.
