Pork sliders are truly to die for. Happy hour 4-6pm has great deals like 3 pork sliders for $8. Great drinks although I do wish they had a bit more on tap like Cali creamin. Lots of TVs and very happy waiters and tenders. Davis was a goat, very quick and easy to talk to. Went on a Monday night for the College football championship and it was not too busy at all. They also had this epic Pokemon dispenser that’s $.75 and my friend got a card with $15! This place is an absolute charm with great food drinks and atmosphere all for a very reasonable price. I plan to make this a staple anytime I’m in north county.

First time patrons tonight. My son and I were greeted by the super sweet Monique. Food was tasty and the ambience was chill. This place has a killer vibe! The booths and tables are from Kenos! Great way to preserve Encinitas history.
The band had stopped playing before we arrived but we were able to catch the Magneito light Sabre show.

The atmosphere and vibes in here are awesome, the only thing it’s missing is some more flavor in their food. The food wasn’t bad but the loco moco was just bland and missing something. The blackened mahi was pretty tasty but the kimchi and the pineapple coleslaw and the Mac salad was also just lacking in flavor. I got an iced London fog latte and it was pretty watered down. Good portions though. Also there were a lot of orders getting messed up, wrong things being brought to wrong people, everyone seemed pretty confused what was goin on but would still come back in the future for the vibes alone and hope they improved the food.
Edit: I would appreciate that and look forward to giving it another try.

Our first time trying Breakers. We ordered the ahi katsu plate lunch and ahi poke. Great local vibe and delicious food!

Breakers feels like stepping straight onto Kauai – from the laid-back energy to the awesome tiki-style bar, the vibes are absolutely immaculate. Live music was playing in the back and set the perfect tone for a chill, island-inspired meal. We had the teriyaki chicken plate with rice, mac, and pineapple coleslaw, the blackened mahi sandwich, and the spam musubi – and every single bite hit the mark. The guava mama cocktail was delicious as well! It’s rare to find a spot that nails the food and the atmosphere like this. Stoked to make this a regular hangout.

I really wanted to like this place. Great location, decent vibe, and a nostalgic nod to Captain Keno’s booths. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
The setup is awkward. Order food at one counter, drinks at another, take a number, seat yourself, self-serve water. It’s not relaxed, it’s disorganized.
The food was the dealbreaker. Overdressed salads, overcooked proteins, and overall bland execution. Worst of all, the poke came out with brown, clearly not-fresh tuna. They took it back and didn’t charge me, but serving bad fish is a hard stop.
After reading other reviews, this wasn’t an off night. Inconsistent food, weak flavors, confused service, and prices that don’t match the quality seem to be a pattern.
Nice space. Poor execution. In a neighborhood with plenty of better options, there’s no reason to return.

Wonderful beachy-surf vibe in every direction you look. There’s so much detailed and sentimental history here. Everything from the lamps to the artwork to the furniture to the tells a story about the owners’ life and past experiences. I love this place and for a new restaurant it’s starting out strong. I never give five stars to the food or service at any restaurant because I know there’s probably always room for improvement. But their atmosphere is worth a strong five stars from the moment you walk in.
I recommend that you come check out their festive environment, tasty Hawaiian fusion cuisine, and creative and satisfying cocktails…and be sure to ask the owner (Benji) for the story that inspired his creations and decor…aloha & mahalo!

First visit and was busier than expected, which is GREAT! The gentleman working the front, Robert, was awesome! Handling multiple things but still providing excellent customer service! Food was delicious, I got the Kaluha Pork, which is by far the best we’ve had! We also had the Teriyaki chicken and a Ahi katsu. For being this new and busy busy, food was above expectations. We ended up getting the Spritz and Mai Tai as well. Simple and well made. Yes, they were out of a few things we wanted, but no problem, we WILL be back to try them another day! The outside area gave Hawaiian backyard feelings, dogs welcome, and a good amount of seating. All the staff we saw were keeping things clear and clean, and still can’t say enough about Robert!

Try their Guava Mama!
We were first timers here, great hospitality.
Their grand opening is Jan 23, 2026 – I wish the team good luck! Benji, the owner, brings some infectious energy!
Looking forward to seeing this place grow and becoming a cool hanging spot in the area!
