Nice and quiet place.
The service is pretty good, not overwhelming.
Tried their pizza, excellent on the flavor as far as the cheese and sauce go. The oven could be a little hotter I think to get a better crunch, but I like mine burnt.
Give them a chance if you’re around, they seem like hard working people.
Will definitely be back to try other items.

Stop reading this review and get over here to try this food! Ezma was welcoming and treated our group like family. Split pea soup had a homemade taste that’s just hard to replicate. Stuffed cabbage was tender and perfectly seasoned with a large enough portion to share. Cevapi meat roll sandwich tasted like a lost cousin of the gyro. Their chocolate chip cookies are a must, take some home for later, if they make it that far.

Bigger inside than it looks at first glance.
It’s hidden away from the main view of the main road but it’s easy to get to.
I was seated in the smaller section but it was nice, warm, and cozy. The staff was very attentive and inviting. Overall, I think it was a lovely dinning experience. The food was delicious and the coffee wasn’t overwhelmingly strong. I would absolutely go here again and bring friends. This is especially true for the warmer weather to come as outdoor seating options are also available. All in all I gave my 5 stars for these very reasons and I will be back.

Almost felt like I should turn around when the lady greeted us at the front. Very dry and unwelcoming. However when one of the regulars came in she was very sweet in telling them she would clean their regular table off in the back. The waitress was very sweet best part of the restaurant. Food was decent but portions are small and the value is just really not worth it. Strawberries looked unwashed and bananas were clearly bruised. No child kids meals which is usually fine because portions are usually enough to share a little with him but not this time. Maybe we will try back in a few months and see how it goes.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE this place. The owner is magnificent and so friendly. The food is superb. Don’t try the Tomato Basil soup. It’s so good I want to make sure she still has some when I come.

First time being here. I had the meatball sub and homemade potato chips. Husband had the club sandwich with French fries. Both were amazing. Lil hole in the wall diner type feel. Good for meet up groups. Looking forward to try lots of things on the menu. Loved the sweet tea also (it’s extremely sweet) like I like. Definitely recommend.
Went back the following week and got the chicken salad sandwich and tomato basil soup!

Ezma’s Bread Box Cafe is family owned since 2002. Located in the Rose Hall Shoppe on Virginia Beach Boulevard. This delightful restaurant offers European style delicious food. The owner and employees are very friendly. The menu is loaded with so many great options. It does get busy here so be prepared to wait for an excellent meal. The Stuffed Cabbage was outstanding This is definitely a must try.

Food was great. We had a beginner server (which we didn’t know) and they failed to mention that they had a kids menu. The kids menu is on the table in the little display, and we were not instructed to look at that so we had to figure out what to order for the kids and it cost a lot more than it should have.
My wife ordered a side of sweet potato pancakes and it was $3.90 on the menu and pointed at it. He put in the order for a full stack and we were charged for that. What was brought was a side plate of pancakes…nothing else. And I clarified with the server that it was a side of pancakes before eating them. He said yes it was. So we ate them. The bill showed the full stack charge of course. And it took 3 managers to tell the story of what happened. Then finally they changed the bill.
I highly recommend this place even though our experience was strange. It’s not an ideal place to take the family but I’d say it would have been way better if we would have known they had a kids menu.
