Where Time Stands Still: Bravo Italian Restaurant

Iconic for garlic knots since the ’80s, Bravo Italian Restaurant and its red sauce aesthetic remains unchanged.

Typically, the food here is excellent, and everybody in our party is happy. This particular time I ordered a fettuccine Alfredo and for whatever reason the sauce taste tasted sour. As though the milk had gone bad that they used or something. I let them know and they did remove it from my bill, but I was very disappointed because after tasting that I did not want to eat anymore. And in addition, this made me less likely to go back.

I’d have never tried this place on my own, but decided I needed a change of the usual places I grub at when in town. My cousin ate here before and said it was good, so what the hell, gave them a try.

ATMOSPHERE:
Very casual, American-Italian decor and menu.

FOOD:
Garlic Bread Balls
Tasty but too doughy for my tastes. I’d rather have traditional garlic bread with that exact spread on top of it.

Seafood Harvest
Opted for the alfredo sauce instead of the traditional pink cream sauce. Pasta was a little overdone but the taste was good. Came with shrimp, scallops, fresh clams, canned clams and calamari (too rubbery.) Nice sized portion for the price.

SERVICE:
We walked in without a reservation on a Sunday for lunch. We waited about 15 minutes for a table. Our female server was very professional and friendly, and checked on us way more than your normal dining experience.

OVERALL:
Food is good, but not the greatest.

bravos is just a local Italian American restaurant.

The service is always 5 star whenever I go from the hostesses, the servers, and even the buss boys. Friendly, welcoming, and attentive.

The food you can’t complain for the price, I’d definitely recommend the chicken parmigiana it’s crispy on the outside and nice and tender on the inside. I also like to order the Italian salad usually a half is good enough because you have to save room for dessert! The tiramisu is so rich and creamy, definitely a must try. I’ll be back again because I swear I go at least once a month…

I’ve been coming to Bravos for 30 years and it’s as great as ever! The service was excellent, fast, our food is always delicious, and we really enjoy going back every single time. The garlic knots complimentary to your meal and are addictive.

Ever since Buca di Beppo closed down, we’ve been searching for a good alternative on island. This place is definitely, hands-down, one of our new favorites! Everything was super fresh and delicious. We ordered our food to go over the phone and it was ready within 20 minutes. The staff were extremely friendly as well

So like the interior. I like the staff. However I learned to judge an Italian restaurant by Pasts and sauce, I had the Spaghetti with meat sauce meatballs and sausag, and their bread which at Bravo they have garlic knots. I really wished they had garlic bread instead, As for the Pasta they have thin Spaghetti which can easily over cooked and yeah mine was overcooked they don’t offer regular spaghetti? I should’ve gone with the Fettuccine, the sausage was kind of an afterthought just these discs and small knife. The best thing tonight is the Meatballs/!d the Chianti wine, th sauce really needs some work and my pasta was drenched. I feel the marinara sauce needs less range and more umami. Usually good pasta and sauce leaves you wanting another bowl even at )27 an entree. That’s a return customer price but I won’t return for that price with the noodles over cooked and the sauce not so good. I thing Zippy’s had better Spaghetti and their sauce is decent. OMG across the highway has a better Spaghetti dish. These places have spaghetti dishes that are half the price. I’ll come back and try their other dishes. Oh I had the seafood combo appetizer which was butterflied shrimp, Calamari, and battered scallops. That was good I learned I like those with their marinara sauce.
If I had to recommend Italian eats? I’d recommend MIO Pastalogy off Beritania. You can get Authentic Italian pasta dishes there for about $5 dollars less. I’m not sure the staff or the owners eat there?

Iced Tea is off. Ive been reviewing Bravos for 20 years. Service still good. Food always consistent. Not great, but good. Unfortunately, lunch pricing has gotten high $18 for pasta & salad is not “special”. By the time you add tips and drink, talking a $26 meal. Ouch.

3 out of 4 came out within 10 mins of ordering. Server said last one would be out in a minute. I told my party to go ahead and eat since we were told only a few mins.
15 mins later I was just watching my party finish their meals when the server seemed to remember my order. Sever didnt even check up on us. Just dropped the bill after.
Restaurant was like 70% empty. “Not a family friendly restaurant”
0 stars if I could.

Delicious food and nice service, plenty menu options. The minestrone soup was one of my favorites to start I ordered two for to go and a lasagna to try for late night snack, shrimp and calamari deep fried was crunchy and taste really good with the side sauces. The atmosphere is good, plenty loud families and employees were are always running to catch up, I guess it was an unexpected busy night. Would be back to try more of that delicious food.
